Well I am going to try and get a flash in the pan on the old Hawken tomorrow. I just hope the rain does not stay around all day. With any luck I will be posting a pic later tomorrow night. Good Luck All

I only had a shot at the ground, clearing my smoke pole for the ride home. Not one deer moving in my area.
I hope to get out at least once before I go back to school. Good luck.

Thanks, Good luck to you also. There was some shooting off in the distance so I know there are deer around. I hunt 2-B right inside Westmoreland County.

We've been pushing a fair number of deer. Flintlock season in our neck in the woods requires putting on drives. My legs are sore from walking so much.

I did it today and did not even see a tail. Tomorrow my youngest Daughter will be holding the smoke pole. She tells me that after she downs her Buck, than I can use the slug gun for the doe.
I would like to post some picture.

This season has been tough. The deer are skittish as hell, and the winds are killing us.

There were zero wind. Nice new snow on the ground and not a thing was moving. I missed all of archery, working to much for the rut, now I am laid off and nothing is moving.

My group killed one and missed two yesterday. Didn't hunt today. I'll probably get out and try to "take the picture" tomorrow too.
No luck for me this season.

With the rain on its way, I have to put the Flintlock up and pull out the slug gun.

I'm sticking with late season archery for around my house, i have private owned land with 5 acres then 4 more down the street, all the deer are dumb and used to humans. Would of had my 8 point already in early archery but i yanked it thinking it was 20 yards, got a range finder after i missed and found it to be 28 yards, damn! W e also have a 14,12,10,two 9's,6,4,8 and three buttons around i have seen but could not get a shot at since i can only bow hunt around here.

Since I had my neck operated on, I have not been able to pull my bow back. Wow what a buck fest you have going on there. I have been hunting 100 acres and have not seen a thing (well lots of turkey). Good luck getting that BIG buck

Good luck getting that BIG buckSorry to hear......... Ya it is def a BUCK fest here, but trouble is pulling them in. I have seen the 14 point but it was 80 yards out to the back of me in my tree stand. I have seen 2 buttons under me, 12 doe, a healthey 9, and the 8 i wiffed at. The rest are on camera and spotted by eye by a neighbor whos land i hunt on so i know they are all real.lol. The rut this year has been messed up by the weather and a guy who walks his 3 dogs thorhg where we hunt. I t is in a suburb where i go but still private land and few acres so archery only.
