TJM discontinued bumpers for my truck (nissan pathfinder) and the only other option is an ARB at $1300:010:. I was wondering if someone could give me what they think would be a rough estimate for the amount of time involved and possibly the cost of materials to custom make a replica of the bumper?

With a picture like that, its damn near impossible, seeing as how you can only see about 15% of what you need to know. You're gonna need to provide a lot more than a lame muddy picture if you want a "replica."

I'm feeling helpful at the moment.

Buy the ARB, or find a used model of what you want. Making a one-off piece like that is too involved, especially having all the guess work of figuring out measurements without something to work off of.

I'd guess about 4-5 hours to draw everything up, make a materials list. Another 8 or so to get everything cut out of plate and taking it to get press braked. Add in the machine shop time for the braking. Another 5 or so hours to weld and dress. 1-2 hours for the tube work. Plus the cost of materials, I'd guess about $300...

For a quality job, you'd be close to the cost of the ARB, if not more by the time it was all said and done.

Yup, buy the ARB or buy a used bumper. The bumpers for trucks with airbags generally are engineered to mount in a way that will not affect the airbag sensors.

That is a super complicated bumper. You would have a lot of time and money in a duplicate. Something simpler would be more reasonable...

Shrockworks doesn't make a bumper for the Pathy?

I agree. If you are not doing the work yourself, you will not be under the price of an arb.

Thanks. TJM made around 40 bumpers and there is such little demand for them that it took over 3 years to sell all the bumpers and they decided to never make them again. The only two companies that currently have Nissan Pathfinder bumpers are ARB and Kennesaw mountain.

Looks like you're stuck with the ARB then. Kennesaw mountain sucks donkeydick.

Yeah that was the problem and I figured if I could save maybe a couple hundred by custom making it, it would be worthid but now that I think about it I would just be better off with the ARB. Thanks.
