I'm currently in the process of building a BUDGET s-10 truggy and i need quite a bit of tubing for the exocage. I'm in Bentleyville (15314). Where do you guys like to go for that kind of stuff? Where's tha cheap places at? :nod:

Have had good luck with Fieldcrewst in Carnegie, but there's probably something closer to you...

You guy know anywhere closer than Pittsburgh to get some 1-3/4 -.120w dom tubing. I need about 60ft

We should be getting a delivery this week of 1 3/4 .120
Call Rob at meridian offroad ctr for exact price, but it should be about $8 per ft.

Fieldcrest in Carnegie. Do a search there is a lot about them on here. A lot of people people on here have bought a lot of steel from them.

Good luck finding it much cheaper. Espiceally when only buying 60 ft. I have been alot of looking around lately and prices have gone up.

yes jeff is correct...it is a lot of money but you wont find it much cheaper, anyone know how much feildcrest wants?

That is silly money for DOM. I paid $3.20/ ft in February up here. I bought 250 ft.

60 ft x $8.75 = $525

250 x $3.20 = $800

4 times the tubing for 1.5 times the money.......
I thought PGH was a steel town?

I just called the steel shop. 1.75" .120 wall DOM
$2.60/ ft for average Joe with no business account.

mechanical steel tube and DOM is the same thing, metco steel by me www.metcosupply.com (http://www.metcosupply.com) has an online catalog...look at the catalog, they want 8.75 a foot for 1.75" .120 wall

they also have "round welded steel tube" 1.75" BUT ITS .065 wall....and it is 2.25 a foot

I just got quotes back from fieldcrest & choice metals :

fieldcrest : 4.50 per ft for 60ft , 3.76 per ft for 160ft

chioce : 3.80 per ft for 60 ft , 3.60 per ft for 160ft

ballastic fabrication : 10.00 per foot
