Got a buddy finishing up a bumper for me, asked me what a good size was for the hole in the mounts. We're thinking 1" should be good to go, then I can run a 3/4" or 7/8" clevis through.

Think 1" is ample, too big, or just good enough?

Wasn't able to quickly find dimensions for these online, here's a pic to make sure you know exactly what I'm talking about.

Mine are 1" plate 2-1/2 inch tall with a 7/8" hole. The length was about 5 inches or so.

I welded them into my bumper front and rear. My bumper is 2x5x1/4" tube. They are rock solid and I'll do it again with the exact same sizes when building another wheeler. I'd probably look into 3/16" wall for a street Jeep.

As long as the weld is not the weakest link those should be perfect.
