Yeah another boring gas mileage thread.....

I'm getting stupid low miles per tank. The most I've hit so far was 212. I recently got 88 miles and I'm exactly on the 1/2 tank line. I kinda expected at least 250 or more with the 4 cyl 5 speed. I got almost 250-270 average per tank on my ex TJ with 33's and 3 speed auto and I can easily hit 300 with the xj on 32's. According to the maintenance sheet of the jeep from the PO, last tune up was at 77k miles (currently has 82k). They installed some kind of single platinum plugs (brand not specified) and that doesn't sound like the champions that jeeps tend to like so I plan to do a tuneup to change those out and maybe clean the TB and throw some junk in the gas tank.

What kind of mileage should I be expecting on this TJ? I hear the sticker is 18/20 but I ain't getting no where near that.

99
2.5
5 speed
4.10s
235/75/15 muds

So i never ride anymore. i just don't have time. so i put my enduro on craigslist and got a pretty good response to it. Here's my issue.

I don't need a 6" bike. I also don't need a bike this nice. I still want a bike capable of riding trails but i need something for rails to trails as well. I like the fact my enduro is a large and not an XL on the trail. But for longer rides it has a top tube that's too short. also my tires are a bit knobby lol.

my enduro:

Also, i want to be able to put a baby seat on something. So really i need something as a dedicated rails to trails type bike.

so tonight i have a guy coming over. He has an 07 (same year as enduro) cannondale prophet 4 which is in nice shape.

That's an XL frame.... I was thinking that plus 500 bucks for my enduro.... that'd clear enough $ to buy a 5.2fx or specialized rails to trails type bike...

HOWEVER, i also just turned my gary fisher paragon in (with a broken frame) and they're going to warrenty the frame. So i'll have a new style 29er frame i can build... but i don't have any components...

just to add that in there lol

since these are 350 ea new, lets say 450 bucks for all 5 (since one is brand new you're paying 100 bucks for 4 tires). if it were me and i was looking for a set. I'd buy 1 more new one, put the best thin one on the back as a spare, and run the 2 best in the back.
