Seal retention
The rear output seal on my tcase blew out on my way to work at Bantam. This was the second time out after installing jk 241 case. Drove down the week before for a work day around 70 mph with no problems. Friday morning may or may not have been cruising around 80 when noticed smoke in rearview mirror.Seal is out of the case and fluid is running out. Pulled the yoke and output housing today and everything looks fine. Seal even looks good. Vent line is not plugged. Thoughts? I have some Permatex bearing retainer I am thinking about using on it. Maybe staking it with a small punch after install??

Have you blown compressed air through the vent to verify it is fully open?

My first thought. Used the Mightyvac to suck on it. Flowed fine. I had thought of putting a larger hose on but I assume the case fitting is the choke point. Then I thought of adding another vent hose on the tail housing just not sure thats a good idea.

Does the seal look rubbed? Just wondering if bearing is worn, giving the shaft excessive movement, which works the seal out.

This is a fairly fresh rebuild. Was on sale on here, Always broke had it in his LJ for a while. When he was selling it we swapped tcases. I also went from 2 inch springs to 4 inch this winter. I still have a non cv shaft. Will be switching to cv shaft when I put it back together.
