Front Fork

I have a Specialized Rockhopper Comp. It has the stock manitou axel fork with 80mm of travel. I am looking at a Rockshox Reba 80mm, Mantiou r7, and Manitou minute. My question is do I have to get a 80mm fork to stay in geometry of the bike or can I go with a 100mm fork. Will it make that big of a difference? I just found this Reba on ebay but the price is really low and don't know if its shady? How can I tell if that fork will fit my bike?

longer will not hurt, I bought my fisher with a F29 Fox that was set at 80mm of travel and had it bumped up to 100mm. (certain forks can be changed)

I say go longer, as long as the frame can handle more travel it wont hurt, its all in what your comfortable with. 100mm to 120mm of travel should be just fine.

In fact, the new Fox F29's come in 3 sizes this year 80mm 100mm and 120mm. (I wish I had the 120 now but from what I understand it has different internals than the 80-100mm travel forks.)

Ya I agree, a 120mm fork should do you good. Not too heavy but just a bit more travel to take the harshness outa the trail & let you hit them trails a little faster & a little harder.

I decided on the Reba. Found one for a pretty good deal and it has convertible travel from 80-120mm. Should work out pretty good.
