    Soft Top Compatibility Question

The soft top on my 2004 TJ was replaced by my insurance. My old top isn't in the best condition, but it's passable.

A buddy of mine has a 2000 TJ with a shredded soft top. Now, when I look online at purchasing soft tops, they show TJ tops from 1997-02 and from 2003-06, obviously signifying that something changed in the design.

My question is, does anybody know how dramatic the design change was? It is a "small change that could be tweaked into working with one or two modifications" or is it a "completely different design, give up and tell him to buy a new one" type of thing?

Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated.

Hey just a follow up on this if anybody is interested...

My 2004 soft top fit on his 2000 with no problems at all. Not sure what the deal is with them listing two different tops.

Just FYI in case anybody runs into the same question.
