    Coyote

Anyone coyote or fox hunt on here?

I missed a huge blonde coyote sat night. I'm so pissed. Would have been my first one. Hell, it was the first one I've ever seen with a rifle in my hands. Range finder said it was 328 yards but I didn't have time to use it before I shot.

I am starting to coyote hunt. I put together a .223 for it and bought a couple of calls but haven't had time lately.

I've been hunting predators for about 10 years now. Mostly calling red fox and coyote. I use a 12 gauge Benelli Nova w/ #4s for calling reds and a TC Encore Pro-Hunter in .204 for coyotes. Supposed to be a cold snowy winter this season according to NWS, so it should be fine predator hunting during the deep freeze months.

We should get sum hunts going for predators there populations are up, I like using my ithaca turkeyslayer with the full float barrel and truglo rifle sights for fox and up close yotes 12ga 3in no. 5s and when its time to reach out, i use my Winchester model 70 in .30-06 with either 168gr federal premium LE match ammo same as marine corps snipers or I use the old Remington 55gr accelerator, anybody else ever used the accelerators before let alone hear of em? pretty awesome round

I had some 30-30 accelerater's a while ago. Two foot fireball coming out of the contender.

I would be interested in doing some 'yote hunting this winter.

Did you use them in a lever gun with a tube magazine like a winchester 94 or a marlin? If so did you load them one at a time? I never got a look at one of those in person but id be concerned about settin em off in the tube if they are a spitzer type bullet. I love em in my '06 they are vicious

OOOH haha missed that sumhow lmao, nice! The muzzle flash on my model 70 is impressive also haha, I love when I touch off the turkeyslayer though, ported on top of the barrel to keep it down, one hell of a nice blast I got sum yote calls also, we should try to kill a bunch and enter them into the contests they have up north, decent payout for killing a songdog or two haha. I think heaviest in the one last year was 53lbs or sumthin like that, payout was over 3k for the heaviest i think, everyone that shot one got like 175 or sumthin I can't remember but it was worth your time.

I went out on my first 'yote hunt over the passed weekend. Didn't see any, but we heard one. It's something I always wanted to get into. My predator gun now is a Marlin lever in .30 carbine. I'm not sure of the model, but over the winter I'd like to build a .223 or .22-250. I wish I could use my AR....

As soon as second archery is over I'll be yote hunting.

    I shoot a 25-06 Tika or my Bushmaster 223.

I've got a bunch of buddies that are getting into running coyotes with dogs. I think the longest chase this year was 13.5 miles.

They just picked up another dog last week.

It's not that surpising since that's when we have the highest concentration of hunters in the woods around here. And with rifles.

I agree. I wish you could hunt small game with a semi too. That would be the justification I need to build up a tricked out 10 22 since I don't get a chance to plink as much any more.
