88 XJ axle shaft question

i have a 1988 xj and i am gonna swap the small ujoint shafts for thr newer 1995+ 297ujoint shafts .....

question is, do i need the stock wheel bearing for the 88 now or the 95 ?
AND same thing for the seals.

i am thinking i will need the seals and bearings from the 95 to put in my 88 ... right ?

you should be able to just pull the old shafts out and slide in the new ones.

You need to change to the newer style seals because you have a vacuum disconnect on the 88 front axle. If you just swap shafts from the 95 into the 88 your going to leak a lot of oil out of the passenger side.

haha I forget about that....unless he is going with a 95 YJ shafts. They are the big joints and still have the vacuum disconnect.
