I actually have a really good book on making bug out bags for different situations. Like if you had to leave on foot, on motorcycle, or by car. With suggestions on what should go in them and what is overkill.

Basically if you could grab one bag and leave everything else what would be in it? Could you carry it etc. That type of thing.

I already have the gun. I just need the painted piece of 6" PVC with end caps.

If you don't mind, what is the name of that book. I would be very interested. Thanks.

Cell phone will be useless if there is a situation, the cellular can be jammed or disabled quite easily. Be better off with a Ham type radio. It is very difficult to nearly impossible to jam communications on a CB or HAM radio. I have a ditch bag in the Jeep if I have to ditch the Jeep in a situation. I also have a situation bag as I call it packed and ready to go in the basement for a broad range of situations.

Don't even get me started on bug out bags (BOBs) and 7 day bags and get out of dodge (GOOD) bags. I'll refer anyone with even mild interest in this topic to my favorite daily blog - survivalblog.com

Speaking of communications, I was looking at the Uniden Bear Cat Scanner with Trunk Tracking ($158 on Amazon) last night. Anyone have any experience with scanners?

I know right about where that fella was, there are some yayhoos up there for sure. Only a few 5th wheel camper style trailers in that area. That is way back off the beaten path, and you gotta be a lil crazy to run up there solo in weather like that, I'd be reluctant to take a group of 5 well prepared individuals and rigs up into that area in those conditions.

Oh I'll be like Chuck Norris in Lone Wolf McQuade pouring PBR all over myself and driving my XJ out of a grave to take on David Carradine and the bad guys that are taking over the world!
