    World's slowest build thread

I've had my Jeep for about a year, I am going to be gettin a "Jeep Fund" job to slowly finance this build.
Currently this is what I have:

    2005 TJ
31X1050X15 Primewell PA 100s With stock spare
    2inch (I think) lift
    D44 rear
    D30 Front
    Stock Tranny
    stock T-Case
scratch and dent special paint package
    Stock Bumpers & Fenders
    Stock Wheels

    Goals:
5 35X1250X15 Pro Comp Mud Terrain
15X8 Procomp Extreme Black Steel Wheels
    4.5 Long Arm
Keep the D44 rear, Possibly D44 front, Lock the rear
    4.56 gears
repaint, keeping black, custom hood paint
    not sure on Bumpers yet
    Tube Fenders
    Spectre Performance Cold Air Intake
    On Board Air
    Bed Lined interior and Grill
    Light bar on roof
    Banks Power full exhaust
remove as much rust as possible

This build is for two reasons:
    1. I want to learn how to do all this stuff
    2. It will be a lot better off-road and look bad-ass

glad you have a good direction on where you wanna go. having that is the first step(and sometimes the hardest) to any build.

    you have a time frame? 1yr? 3yrs? 5yrs?

Looks like a good plan! But I would go with 8in wide rims insted of 10
2000tj on D60's, custom long arms, 3link front, four link rear both locked with a 231/300 doubler twin sticked, Full Hydro steering, on 38 in boggers

I wan't sure on this, I was figureing with a tire at 12.50, 8 would be too small

i was running my boggers (35x14.50x15) on eight inch wheels. When you air down off road it helps the beads stay on

8in is the way to go with 12.5 tires.IMO

I ran 10" with 12.5" tires and while it handled fine, if I would have known better at the time I would have run 8". The only benefit to running a 10" wheel is the tires will wear more evenly at a higher psi. The down side is you run a better chance of blowing a bead while aired down.

Plus you tend to get more crap stuck between the wheel and tire with a wider wheel.

So it looks like I have to start with the exhaust, sea foamed it yesterday and a lot of the smoke came out the middle of the Jeep, seemed it was coming from under the skid plate

    I vote 35's

15X8 Procomp Extreme Black Steel Wheels
    4.5 Long Arm
Keep the D44 rear, Possibly D44 front, Lock the rear

Not really necessary with 33's... with 35's it'd be nice.

    4.56 gears

Again, with 35's sure, but it'll be ok with 33's without regearing.

repaint, keeping black, custom hood paint
    not sure on Bumpers yet
    Tube Fenders
    Possibly Snorkel
    On Board Air
    Bed Lined interior and Grill
    Light bar on roof

I'd stay away from the light bar

    Banks Power full exhaust

PM 6dof. there's a company that makes borla headers and sells them rebadged for like 200 bucks!

remove as much rust as possible

i wouldn't spend big $ on a cat back that you're just going to rip off. john brown does exhaust for us, cat back is usually around 100 bucks installed if you provide the muffler. 2.5" mandrel.

Now that I have my Jeep back, I ordered up some stickers, put Forever black on the missmatched bumper ends, realized my back bumper was now lighter than the the end caps, 1.92 in spray paint later, most scratches are fixed and the bumper looks new. As soon as the rain leaves, stickers are going on.

Saw that on Xtreme 4x4 the other day - actually a pretty good idea assuming you don't mind the noise from the intake being in the passenger compartment (or experience an intake backfire!)

Chances of an intake backfire are slim to none unless you're running some NAAAAAAAWZ.

On good thing is a tree branch won't rip this off the side of the jeep.
