Nice work Trev! The new tubs look sweet, that's a lot of time getting that much metal grafted into the existing body.

It takes time but you are off to a good start for sure.
I completely understand how much time you have in to the metal work in the rear. I made my tubs a simple design and it was still a bitch.

Haha a fella in WV cut his 4dr it turned out pretty darn good. I'm lovin the build, and the tubs look great to me. Lots of effort went into those. What is your overall plan for suspension/drivetrain mods and final tire size?

thanks man... they look ok from far away... just ugly close up... the story of my life... hahaha

plans are cutting up the front fenders as well, lots remake the inner fenders up front.

boat sides, i think i'm gonna go a little crazy and cut to the 2nd body line on the door, not sure yet

    flat belly skid

    231/300 doubler

    hp44/9in

keeping the leaves in the rear and coils up front. hoping to only need to run 4in of lift so i can run some military 37's on recentered h1 wheels. if all goes well i'd really like to get between 4-5in of up travel. only time will tell for that though.

just need to do some measuring after i get it all cut

hmmm... i tink some ting wong...

never noticed in all the chop threads i read about having to cut the tail gate. this is bull shit. jeepforum said it was a direct fit. i quit... hahaha

initial scribble of line to cut, need lots more measurements before i actually cut.

This looks pretty cool. I haven't seen a chopped XJ, local anyway.

Are you planning on running some tube back there to finish it off? Maybe tie it into a cage inside?

hahahaha... that involved a used grinding wheel that was sitting on the bench and some soap stone... the damn wax on the hatch wouldn't let me write with the soap stone...

never said i was good at coloring in the lines...

yeah there will be a full cage, semi exo cage ish with a semi thropy truck ish back half. if i can i'm going to try to hide most of the cage inside the wheel wells

It doesnt matter how you draw them as long as you cut straight. Everyone laughed at my mock up lines as well.

I love the work you did to rebuild the bed. Looks great. As a fellow XJ fan I cannot wait to see the finished project. NICE WORK
Fathernsons.com Started with a 94 xj at a shown & shine a few years back. Knowing we had a difficult time against the trailered entries, we added a sign that read, "we use this jeep to promote our father n son time together".
From that vendors & without solicitation wanted to sponsor our site. Its starting to come together more and more.
Thanks to all. Meanwhile we will see you on the trails.

I passed one in Latrobe over the holidays. I've never seen it before that.

not really any progress today... i screwed the pooch on everything else i wanted to do. so i just ground down the wheel wells until i couldn't hear anymore and could only taste metal shavings...

but on the brighter side here is the height of the wheel well sitting on saggy ass bent stock springs

now if i can just get the front that way and still be able to run a flare... hmmm

thought i'd update this guy. not a whole lot done this past week or so. i got my rear bumper mostly made, not very pretty, but stout and functional. finally finished up my rear shackle relocation brackets. i didn't want to buy them because of how they mount. my stock shackle boxes are rusting through.

so this is my version of some xj shackle relocation brackets

also got the driver side main frame stiffener all welded up. just need to finish the rear bumper, swap in my yj boomerang shackles and not so sagged xj springs, add in a few pieces for the cage. then i'll be ready to actually seal up the back

here it is as it sits, minus the mounting bars and side guards.

and here is what i'm thinking of changing it to. what do yinz think
