One of these things is not like the other's - my 2011 Sonata Limited 2.0T (turbo!)

The Corolla had started shifting very poorly, and yesterday got stuck in 2nd gear for awhile for no reason. It needed battery, tires, brakes, belts, all of the usual stuff - that I didn't want to put into it. It's a great little car, but it hurts my back sitting in it for more than half an hour, and I go on 7-8 day-long drives a year at a minimum. I decided that it was time to unload it before it was no longer reliable transportation... Also I wanted a fresh-vehicle start that I haven't made mistakes with, such as getting t-bones when missing a stop sine and getting in a big fight with a guard rail. The Corolla crab-walked even though alignment is correct. Because of that I wanted to trade it in, I have no issue with sending it to auction, but I'm too honest to sell something like that private party. After all papers were signed and done, I disclosed how F'd up the car was, they weren't surprised.

And so, can you spot the new one? I've been researching for awhile, because of the back issues I really wanted a vehicle that had a comftorable drivers seat with lumbar support - and you bet your ass this is one of the most comftorable seats I've ever been in! Equiped as I got it (fully loaded) retail is $31,395. I left paying $27,386 (minus $5,000 for corolla) and financed at 1.9% over 48 months.

I'm pretty happy with that. 550 miles to go until she's broken in and I can really play with the turbo and paddle shifters...

I played with the idea of an AWD vehicle a lot considering the winters we have with the hills around here, but I have the Grand Cherokee semi-beater. The gas difference for AWD is almost a 30% loss, and 99.5% of my miles are on open highway long distance, in good weather.

This baby gets 33MPG even with the horsies...

I thought I saw 283 somewhere, but a link I just found is saying: 274 horsepower and 269 pound-feet of torque

Nice, one of my rentals was a sonata, base model of course, but it was still a nice ride.

Nice car Matt! I have read good things on them. You will love that turbo, I know I love the one on the Passat.

Btw Matt, How are Bridgeville cops with big lifted rigs? Barring this house failing inspection, I'm gonna be down there with ya.

Lifted - fine. But make sure you have full bumpers and your tires do not stick out. You will get pulled over. I've only gotten warnings, but it might be because I'm a polite resident, I've gotten off lucky.

So... lift = OK, but it needs to be inspected, bumpered, and tires under fender flares.

You can get both in a six speed, but if you go Limited, it's a 6 speed auto, and no option for manual.

The Jetta's are nice, but after dealing with my Audi and my moms Audi on parts costs - I'll never buy a German car again. Evvvvveeeeeeeeer.

It's 3,300 lbs... so 274HP + 269 lb-ft torque + light weight for the car = FREAKIN' FAST. Sub 6second 0-60 if you shift right, 6.5ish on full auto. It has a much sportier feel to it than I expected, I'm pleasently surprised. I've been looking for excuses to drive it around in the nice weather with the radio up, sunroof open, and windows down. The sound system is the best I"ve heard in a stock vehicle, I don't see a need to upgrade it and I'm picky on sound.

Oh I wanna! But I'm also planning on keepthing this as a DD for 8 years, so I really want to break it in properly. 600 miles, minimal highway (no constant speeds) and keeping RPM's between 2-4k. Even keeping it under 4,000 RPM's it's been a blast to drive. I find myself hitting the gas to past and laughing like a mad man once in awhile, I just couldn't do that in the old car.

You'll love the turbo once you get a chance to really spin it My Forester XT is re-flashed w/ a Cobb AccessPort and is making around 285 on 93 octane. It is a blast on entry ramps to the interstate
