Tuesday, March 08, 2011 Earlier today, the Pennsylvania Senate voted 43 to 4 to pass important self-defense reform legislation. Senate Bill 273, Castle Doctrine legislation, reintroduced by state Senator Richard Alloway, II (R-33), would allow law-abiding citizens to use force, including deadly force, against an attacker in their home and any place outside of their home where they have a legal right to be. If enacted, this law would also protect individuals from civil lawsuits by the attacker or the attacker’s family when force is used.
Please send an e-mail to thank your state Senator for supporting SB 273. Law-abiding gun owners of Pennsylvania should not be treated like criminals, because they choose to exercise their Second Amendment rights. For contact information or help identifying your state Senator, please click here.
These state Senators voted AGAINST SB 273 and your right to self-defense:
Senator Lawrence Farnese (D-1)
Senator Vincent Hughes (D-7)
Senator Shirley Kitchen (D-3)
Senator Christine Tartaglione (D-2)
