I finally found the right clutch that i wanted to install.

I ditched the stock hubcaps and went with painted wheels to give it a tractor look.

    lots of rain=no work outside

I cut up the stock goose neck hitch and welded it all to the bed. The hitch is welded to the bed and most of the bed mounts have been beefed up to take the load of a goose neck trailer.

The goose neck hitch welded in to the bed.

The bed is finally on! Now to make a bumper, load tools, make a ladder rack.....the list never ends.

Awesome build Ralph. Looks like a brand new truck.
Never blame the beer. It's only there to lend a hand.

I had the same Clutch in my Stroke. Worked great even behind my turned up engine as long as you didn't slip it enough to let it heat up.

The rear of the bed not gonna be carrying any real weight? Just curious cause of the amount of overhang you have.

i wish my truck would have been a 8ft bed, but it was only 6ft. i had thought about stretching the wheelbase but it was a but to involved for this project. after i add the welder, tool boxes, compressor, air tanks, ladder rack, and parts its going to be packed full. most of the weight will be directly behind the cab and all of the rear weight will be light stuff (igloo cooler, material for the day)

The truck is so close to road worthy again. I have to wire taillights, finish the exhaust, and add mud flaps then it will go for the state inspection. After that I will bolt on my welder, tool boxes, add halogen lighting, and make welding lead hooks. The welding leads will be locked up when not in use but I need something to hang then on while on the job.

functional rear bumper w/ 2" receiver

I fabed up a 1.5"square 1/8 thick ladder rack and its also bed cover. The truck sits outside all the time so I wanted to keep the snow and rain off of my tools. There is no way I want to clean 10" of fresh snow and ice off of my welder before I have to use it at the break of dawn. I picked up non matching metal roofing to use as the bed covering.

I scrubbed the mud off and painted the roofing ford gray.

The rack is completely removable with 4 small hitch pins. I made it removable so I can still use my gooseneck trailer.

This build is just about rapped up, I would say 90% done. All thats left is to add an additional toolbox, get the logo in vinyl for the doors, and state inspection.

    last pics

    unloading my massive compressor

welder guard and extension cord holder.

    quick disco vice
