What brand does Autozone carry? Is it a store brand ?
I've seen the duplicator kits for around $60 but I'm not sure if it's textured. A little texture is ok but I've seen the ones that have rubber or somethin chunks, I don't care for them ones.

I've done the duplicolor before, it's smoother than most, but also makes it less durable. IMO. With anything, prep and primer are key.

I believe Herculiner is the devil, if you put that shit on your sliders don't expect to have any skin on the back of your legs, plus it's very exposed to fading from UV

with the duplicolor, ive seen two versions, one they call just bed liner and the other is bed armor. ive used theyre aerosal bed liner on my roof rack and some other small things. holds up ok, i do like to semi smooth texture.
about the hericuliner, is there a smooth version? ive never seen it in person, just in pics.

I have used Rustoleum and Dupli Color. I like the rustoleum better I think it holds up a lot better. Its smooother too. The duplicolor chips very easily.

Herculiner is textured, the back of my leg knows that from getting in her 4runner (bodyline down done on it). You want smooth, don't use that...

Along with different application techniques (roll on/spray) textures (with thinning) and colors, they seem to have excellent customer service based on this thread. I've never used them myself, but have been eying getting some for a while now.

Any update on durability of the rustolium?

I am planning to do the fender flares and backside of the TJ in a couple weeks. The flares faded god-ugly and i painted them not long ago (4 coats plus clear) and it's already wearing off and fading again. I figured a bedliner type coat over them will not wear off. I'm just not sure if it adheres to plastic well. The backside of the jeep has a tiny bit of rust going down those two spots where the body panels meet below the taillights and the damn hinges corroded and caused the paint to look white where it dripped down. I figured I'd coat the entire rear plus the tailgate since that's where all the salt seems to accumulate in winter time.

Will this stuff work on the flares?

    Here's my update
I had some welding done on my stiffeners and the rustoleum was a bi**h to remove. It held on great. There's been no flaking or chipping even when out wheeling. I plan on coating more parts with it before winter hits. For 50 a gallon it's hard to beat.

That's awesome to hear. How about fading? Color stay the same?

What kind of prep did you do before applying?

Colors still the same, since its under the xj and not exposed to much light. For prep all I did was grind everything smooth and coat it. It was fairly new metal to begin with.
