    Project "Wife beats me"

    So kim's rig is getting some significant updates/upgrades.

    i've had a rubi rear 44 axle laying around for it for a few months now.

    Well i recently aquired a Front rubi 44, trussed, gussetted, with river raider diff covers on it and with a spyntec kit installed as well. and a rear non rubi 44 with 4.88's and the same diff cover.



    I sold the spyntec kit to help fund some of the other mods going into the jeep.

    I ordered:

    An arb fridge/freezer to keep our pop, lunch, and ice cream cold on the trail



    Rock Krawler front coilovers



    Tatton Front driveshaft

    Front extended stainless lines

    Evo Rockstars for the rear shocks



    5.38 gears

    and currie spring retainers....




    i'm still debating on replacing the rs9000xl rear shocks with the Rock Krawler matching shocks for the front... i'm just debating if it's worth the added expense... because i could sell my setup as a set...

    anyway, should be nice... i'll probably do evo front LCA's and a tatton rear driveshaft once i sell the 5.13 D30/D44 combo that are in it and the extra 4.88 rear D44.

    So - where's the pics of your bruises, and did the beatings occur before or after her Jeep mods planning was started?

    Lol. Well I got the eye roll when I pulled in with the axles... And te arb is kinda for her. But she hasnt seen the boxes for the rest yet lol

    Driveshaft is here

    gears, install kits, brake lines, spring retainers, and rockstars get here tomorrow.

    Now just waiting on coilovers and i'll be ready to build!

    Everything is here except the coilovers and they get here tomorrow. I was annoyed with how one of the install kits showed up though

    Wow - yeah that would warrant a thorough check of the bearing surfaces with everything banging around inside the carton like that!

    i ran up to jtech and got the gears in and tested the lockers. the pics aren't real exciting but here's pics. 5.38's are in

    And so it officially begins... That's everything for now except the AEV pintler beadlocks i just bought from joeglock! the garage is clean and hosed out, the JK is in and i'm driving the XJ till this is done.
    the official build for now (excluding the arms, i'm still working that out) is:
    Front
    RK coilovers
    RK weld in bump stops
    Crown front stainless lines
    Rubi D44 - 5.38 gears, RK truss, Sleeves, Gussets, river raider cover
    Rear
    RK 2.5" springs
    Currie coil retainers
    Evo Rockstars
    Bilstein 5100's (till the RK shocks get here)
    Rubi D44 with 5.38 gears and river raider cover
    I'm working with RK on a custom arm kit... Not sure what's going to come of it. it's still in the planning phase. But i can run this in the meantime.

    lol. one dude is supposed to come get the axles but i don't have $ in my hand yet. i have a pair with 5.13 gears and G2 diff covers for 800 bucks. That's crazy cheap. you can't even buy the gears/diff covers/install kits for that.

    i know this kinda looks like more pics of the same crap but there was some work done tonight. I move slow between watching/playing with my little girl and working on this.
    got the rockstars on, the rear track bar bracket on the rear was smooshed to the side. I had to cut it and beat it back into place, then weld it back into place, and then i added the AEV bracket for good measure (since it uses U bolts and i'm going to weld it to the tube as well).
    got the diff covers on for real, tested the lockers, they're good to bolt in!
    hopefully i'll get the rear in tomorrow and the front out saturday.




    gotta figure out when i can get down to MD to pick these up too!

    that's the plan. just gonna add stronger stubs. But other than that just keep wheeling and fixing it when it breaks.

    I snuck downstairs. Rear 44 is in and I'm done measuring for shocks

    Had to pull the brake plates so I used the ben foo patented brake rotor slide technique to pull the shafts



    Out with the old



    And in with the new
