    Dodge / Jeep rearend

    anyone know if a cherokee rear axle will fit in a dodge dakota, are the mounts the same width?

    as far as i know they are not the same. the leaf packs are not the right width.

    how about the overall width, it aint nothin to cut the perches and move them.

    Overall Width i'm 90% sure they are the same, bolt pattern is different in some dakotas so you'd need dak shafts. Also, I can't remember and it is just a minor inconvenience but I think Dak's are SUA as opposed to a cherokee's SOA.

    I have a couple Dakota rearends I'll sell cheap, make me an offer. (both are out of '96)
    I'm not completely worthless, I can always serve as a bad example.

    As far as i know the 01 and 96 rears are the same.

    I think your right, 87-93ish or so were 5x4.5 pattern like cherokee's a friend has a black dak well he's on here can't remember his screename

    i know the one im looking at is six bolt pattern, but i can swap the dakota shafts into a cherokee housing if the cherokee housing would fit.

    mine out of the '96s are 6 on 4.5 and as far as I know are the same and would be a direct bolt in for an '01.
    I'm not completely worthless, I can always serve as a bad example.
