anyone know if a cherokee rear axle will fit in a dodge dakota, are the mounts the same width?

as far as i know they are not the same. the leaf packs are not the right width.
how about the overall width, it aint nothin to cut the perches and move them.
Overall Width i'm 90% sure they are the same, bolt pattern is different in some dakotas so you'd need dak shafts. Also, I can't remember and it is just a minor inconvenience but I think Dak's are SUA as opposed to a cherokee's SOA.

i know the one im looking at is six bolt pattern, but i can swap the dakota shafts into a cherokee housing if the cherokee housing would fit.
mine out of the '96s are 6 on 4.5 and as far as I know are the same and would be a direct bolt in for an '01.
