    Kayaks, what do you have.

    Old Town Otter XT

I read some reviews at Paddling.net

I found the Old Town Otter XT
9’6″ length, 28.5″ width, weighs 39 lbs., 225-275 lbs. capacity
Adjustable back rest and foot braces
    Paddle keeper
    Colors vary by location

It was priced in store at $280.
DunhamsSports.com has them for $199.99 with a coupon for in store purchase.

They had a solid yellow one. I grabbed it instead of the red or blue one. Im hoping when I drown it will help to mark my location for the rescue team. I hope it doesnt attract every bee in the area or scare the fish away.

They also have KL Industries Cayman SS Kayak for $129.99 with a coupon.

Walmart also KL WaterQuest 10' Deluxe Kayak with a two piece paddle for $249 in store.

I picked up a Carlisle Day Tripper paddle on sale for $30 at Dunhams as well. They come in one and two piece. I picked up a one piece.

I spent about 3 hours in the Otter XT today with my 5 year old crammed in with me. My feet were cramped but I couldnt sit properly with my knees up with her in it. I was worried about the plastic seat with no padding but it was actually pretty comfortable. Padding would definately help on a long float Im sure though.

I know a few of you have been looking for cheap kayaks so maybe that will help you out in getting one to start out with.

So when are we hitting the water?

I have a Pursuit 100 that JKChica got me for my birthday so we could go kiyakin together, aweeeeeee.

Might pick up one of those cayman ss' for the gf. she said she wanted to go along with me, and since all we'd really do is cruise around a lake up here or go in shallow rivers theres no need for something $$$$$.

I have a dagger savanna and a knock off version of that old town. The pack saddle gap on the upper allegheny (I believe) is one of my favorite paddles.

I have the Field & Stream fishing kayak.

The wife has the Perception Swifty.

We are just weekend paddlers. Nothing crazy. I like going down the Yough near Connellsville.
Never blame the beer. It's only there to lend a hand.

We have a small fleet. Wilderness Systems Pungo 120, and Pamlico 100 for the kids, Necky Manitou 14 for the Mrs., and a Valley Sea Kayaks Skerray 17 ft for me. It's good to be the king.

Pack Saddle Gap is on the Conemaugh above Blairsville. The wife and I have Pelicans. I have the fishing model 12 footer and hers is a regular 11'6". My 12' seems to be a good compromise between a long fast yak and a short manueverable one. We usually float the Conemaugh from Tunnelton to Saltsburg or the Loyalhanna between Derbytown road and Rt22. Both floats can take anywhere from 2 hrs paddling to 4+ just floating. They're both class 1 with some minor rapids.

My uncle owns a kayak/canoe rental in Salina. He'll shuttle people all over the kiski, conemaugh, loyalhanna, or any of the lakes. If anyone wants to get a trip together I can get us a deal on rentals. I'll talk to him at work tomorrow and see what kind of discount he can give yinz. Right now the rivers are perfect and the fishing's picking up. Guess I Just might have to start a new thread...
