I once owned a Ruger 44 not as big as what your talking about, but the gun was a snub nose, it would break your damn wrist pulling the trigger. Great gun to carry tho, I never worried about knock down power lol

The one nice thing about shooting a pistol in .460 is never running out of ammo. You wont want to shoot it that much

Magnum research makes a .450 marlin revolver and a 45/70 Govt revolver with a 7" barrel as well. About as big as you would want to go in a handgun and still have all the parts of your fingers left

I checked out the raging judge at ACE about a month ago. I really wanted one for a while but I'm over them. If you really want a gun that big, get one made for it... seems like a waste to buy a short barrel gun and leave all that extra length in the chamber unused. ( I mean the length difference from the .410 magnum and .454)
It's not illegal, it's frowned upon.
i'm not totally set on a .454 but i was thinking that it's nice that i can still shoot .45 colt, which can sometimes be found cheaper ya know.
any thought on that vs the other calibers?
and i agree, the judge vs a normal revolver. the judge's accuracy definitely suffered from less rifling of the barrel

I dont think there is a great use for the judge past "cool" factor. The cartrdges it fires shoot poorly out of it, and its heavy. It looks cool and big, but a lot of that is wasted on a short barrel firing crummy rounds. (crummy rounds for that platform, although 45LC is not all that great of a cartridge, but it will do)
glutton for punishment? I shot my dads airlite .357 mag snubby and after 3 shots it shook the bullets out of the casings on the remaining rounds... kinda took away any desire i had to shoot a short barreled anything bigger LOL!

It is "only" a .44 mag but I like my S&W Trail Boss.
Why the short barrel? I carry my .44 Ruger Redhawk regularly and can consistently hit what I'm aiming at out to 100 yards. Pretty sure I'd never be able to do so with a short barrel, and I've had enough loaded firearms pointed at me in anger to know that accuracy is what counts...

.44 redhawk is a great gun, wouldnt mind using one for deer.
Cause I want to carry it and if the longer barrel large frame revolvers don't fit in the center console of the focus lol.
I just have a thing for them.
And the judge being useless. A .454 like the raging judge is still pretty potent. Lol. It may be a little awkward but I like it. I just sold my regular judge.

then there is only one choice my friend.... the Taurus Raging Judge .454 casull , 45 long colt, and .410 shotgun!!! for about 675 bucs you can own one

The first pic is of just a regular judge and will not shoot .454, the second pic is of the .454 casull model. fyi
