Iver Johnson "Champion" single shot break action 12 gauge shotgun (probably made in the 1930's). Very nice receiver with original patina and no paint. Barrel was cut down and has a home made muzzle brake that doesn't look bad. The total barrel length with the welded on brake is 18.5" and it is spray painted. Original finish butt stock has a small crack behind the tang as usual but it is safe to shoot. The butt pad appears to have been replaced with a piece of leather and looks ok. The forearm looks to be home made but is decent and fits well. With the barrel being cut down, it was originally a choked barrel but now is cylinder bore so it can shoot slugs. The extractor works upon opening the action and the action does not open when shooting as some worn out break actions can do. Overall, it is a $50 functional and safe shotgun, not a show piece, and a good youth size, so this would be a good field gun for a kid, especially if you cut down the stock some and shortened the length of pull.

That sounds like someone’s most prized possession after the apocalypse. You should include some electrical tape so people can shoot 16 and 20 gauge out of it.

it's probably worth 400 bucks. i think they're almost 800 new? I'd trade it or put it towards trade on one of your long guns.

It is. I was not a fan of the scope so I put the Burris Fullfield with illuminated reticle on it. It is a really nice lightweight, compact accurate rifle but I have a few too many 308s right now

Cool. What i REALLY want is a ruger gunsight scout in .223 lol. But .308 works too. let me know if you want to work something out. If not no worries.

I have a stainless Gunsite scout in 308 and really like it. I am a big fan of Jeff Cooper and the Scout rifle concept. Are you interested in the Ranchland with or without the scope?
