    My RV "Chevy Chase"

Im not sure if this meant for a Build Thread or a Camping & Hiking thread but I am going to post it up.

My wife and I bought a 1984 Chevy RV a couple of weeks ago. We were looking for a tow behind camper, but this RV was for sale right near our house and I had to buy it. What better than a camper that drives itself! We were just going to "clean it up" because it is great shape, and it turned into anther project. Specs are....

    -350 V8 w/ 3k miles, 3 speed auto
-inspected, ready for the open road w/ new tires and low miles on most of the other wear and tear parts
    -re-upholstered cushions
    -Clean but needs modernization!

So we decided to take 1984 and make 2012. I think I have about 28 work hours in and my wife has about 10 hours of labor into this damn thing and thank god its about done.

    the to do list

    new laminate floor
seal the roof with white roof tar stuff
remove 1/2 of the windows and re-sealed them
    paint the kitchen walls
    HD radio,6x9 speakers
    LCD,DVD TV with wall mount
rear hitch to tow the jet skis or small trailer
fix slide out door step, watch that first step

Here is the Chevy the day I bought it. Chevy Chase

    removing carpet and cleaning.

Carpet in the bathroom, I love the 1980's

Elizabeth working on the kitchen walls

    Laminate flooring

    Swivel captains chairs!

    HUGE POS AM/FM radio

Modern upgrades ready to go in, thats Ralphs style of camping.

I'm thinking I should have a M&G on location at the trail entrance with this RV. Stop at the Rv and head to the trail with some breakfast, snacks, and a PGHOR sticker.??

    Exclamation

You even have the young 'Randy Quaid' look working for ya' - ROCK ON!!!

p.s. - KEEP THAT R-12 A/C UNIT IN TIP-TOP SHAPE!!! You DON'T want to try and cool that beast with that cheap-azz R-134, that couldn't cool an Eskimo in Nome - in JANUARY. Replace every seal, gasket, and hose if you have to, and spend the EXTRA on R-12 refrigerant, but you do NOT want a 134 conversion!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
'07 Commander - 2" Daystar lift, 32x17x10 Cooper ATPs, Flowtech exhaust, aFe CAI
    '92 Dodge Ramcharger - 4 1/2" lift, 35's, 318 Magnum... a work in progress...
