Would it be possible to get a thread for discussing beer, wine, other alcohol related drinks for us Homebrewers?

Just brewed an American IPA on Sunday.I still brew extract kits. I would like to do all grain. But I'm not quite there yet.

Seems like you just started one.
Never blame the beer. It's only there to lend a hand.
Throw it in a thread for now - if it ever gets active enough we can make a sub forum in off-topic for it!
How many members on here are home brewers? It would be cool to have a M&G and have all the brewers bring a few growlers of their latest brew.

Most everyone I know are still using kits. They make it so idiot proof with so many flavorings no one wants to go to all of the work of doing grain.
I've been on a wine kick lately, my wife drinks it so fast with her friends, I can barely stock pile any.

When I was living in AZ. My roommate and I brewed all grain. But he was the brains of that operation. But I learned enough of the basics to start brewing extract kits years later.

I would even consider brewing a five gallon batch and just bringing the whole batch.

Jeff, do you force carbonate your beer?
Acer Offroad A♦A♣A♠A♥
Yes, I hate cleaning bottles. I would much rather clean one Cornelius keg. Than clean 50 or so bottles per batch. I have 2 kegs so that I can have two different batches going at once. Plus it is much faster. It only takes about 3 days to force carbonate. As opposed to a month to naturally carbonate. Which I'm sure you knew.

Never brewed beer, been thinking about making my own wine. Maybe, in the fall. Great thread idea I love to drink. Always thought it would be a good idea to have a booze section. Not just getting drunk but for the taste of it. Topshelf, and really good bargain brands.

Kegged 5 Gal of a honey Hefe last week, letting it naturally carb so wont be done for at least another week. I added 2 lbs of raw honey from my hives after primary to try to keep the aroma and honey flavor.
tjblair where in Butler are you, I'm in the Beaver Falls area maybe we can meet up in the cranberry area and talk brewing and samples.
Im about 1/4 mile from downtown Butler. I would be up for a meeting, and I would love to try another home brewers creation. as I said before I am still only brewing extract kits, but they have been coming out awesome. Im getting ready to brew a hefe my self. My wife is the hefe fan, but I am all about trying new beer. espiceally homebrew. I am more in to the hoppy IPA type beers. one of my favorites that I have made so far is a black IPA. it looks like used motor oil, but tastes much better.LOL I have brewed blondes, American style IPA's Black IPA's, porters, stouts and wheat beers. so I have been all over the spectrum. but I keep coming back to the IPA's.

I had planned on making some Apple Jack from the apples on my apple tree this year, only problem is the early frost here killed all my apple blossoms and there were no apples. Guess I'll just buy some apple cider from the amish and do it that way.
Side note: Just bottled a Peach Zin, now starting a Blueberry Pinot Noir
