556 seems to be pretty available now. Lake City 100 round bags for $89 at Natchez. They did have a little .22LR earlier in the week.

Ya I've been seeing 556/223 at the .89 cents a round price for awhile. As long as people are paying that it will stay there. I think it's silly. I'm fortunate to be reloading 223 at the moment. I'll be out of powder shortly though ahhhhhh

screw that. cabellas had 350 rounds of 557 for 139. and you could buy 5 boxes. I bought 1 of those and 4 boxes of .223 for 7 bucks a box ($7 per 20 rounds).

no f'ing way would I pay anywhere near .89 a round. walmart has wolf steel case right now for like 5 or 6 bucks a box... at least they did the other night.

Glad you found some better deals, thanks for the tip. I'm happy with the Lake City 556. Shoots clean and straight and I save my brass, so I'm not overly bent about the price, certainly not enough to curse about. They had it when I had time to look....which Cabela's did not at the time, and I just checked now and they have none (556) at the moment. Some 223 but it's all the $20 a box of 20 and up stuff, so 100 rounds for $89 is cheaper. I'll overpay from time to time, sure. Maybe I did this time but I'm ok with a quality product, and I'm lazy.

If you run totally out I will sell you a can of the powder I bought from Doublezj at the price I paid him. I haven't had time to think about reloading lately.

if you're looking online that's no good. you have to run by the store now and then.

Yeah I've been mostly just online shopping. I did a double check and I actually paid $79 for the 556, not $89. Still too much, I know. For as much as I shoot my AR I guess it's not huge for me (maybe 200 rounds a month) & I don't shoot steel out of the AR. I do most of my practice with my M&P 15-22. I wish .22LR bulk was a little easier to get. I did nab some PPU from GunAuction.com. I've found a few decent deals on the auction sites.

In person, I've stopped in Big Bucks (I know) and a few other places but my timing sucks apparently as the only thing I found was 556/223 for $40 for 50 round bags at BB. So still not cheap. I tried Wal Mart in Titusville and struck out. I can't ever get anybody at Dunham's to even come to the gun counter, so I kinda have a personal ban on them.

Which Wal Mart are you finding ammo? Maybe I'll try the one in Gibsonia on the way home.

Justin, care to share your source? We talking bulk or by the 20 round box?

Hey thanks for the tips both you guys, much appreciated! As much as I loathe navigating Cranberry I now have a few excuses to head up that way. Thanks Ryan. I have an old fridge up at my camp that has volunteered to get shot. A lot. So I'll need to nab some ammo to replenish supplies after the masscre.

Was out at Grice gun shop in Clearfield this weekend, they do have some things in stock. Brick of CCI small rifle primers were 34.99, seemed to have a decent selection of IMR and Hodgen powder. .45 auto was $27.99, .38 special $24.99, 7.62x39 $7.99, few different .223 starting at $11.99. No 22lr to be seen. Bob's prices were high on some ammo, so didn't check prices on much there. Not the selection like there usually is, but we all somehow managed to come home with another gun.

This is a test to show some of the higherups the effectiveness of such contests. Word on the street is that there is a case of 9mm coming next.

Primer prices are the biggest suck right now. $60-$75 per 1000 is a deal.

Any of you guys order from Steelcity ammo company at all? Supposedly really good prices and always posting pallets of ammo. I believe they are or were around Neville Island area. Thought I read something about a new location?

On Friday Biden announced a 1 year ban on importation of Russian made guns and ammo. This could impact 40% of the total ammo sold on the US market, but it's still kind of unclear at this point what ammo actually is made in Russia or is made in other countries and sold as Russian. Regardless, Wolf, Tula, Barnaul, and commie surplus ammo saw an increase in price and decrease in availability over the weekend, which sucks considering prices were trending down. This was meant to penalize the Russian government. Uh hu.
