As for the Zimmerman case, it was unfortunate what happened at all, but as the jury said he is not guilty. I am glad I live in the sticks, and I definitely see us losing more rights over this if we're not diligent.

The best part Zimmerman isn't racist, nobody who actually had anything to with the trial thought he was racist. In the 911 tape Zimmerman said he thought he maybe black. The media, and all these assholes just ran with it.

And thats another thing that pisses me off. Racist needs to be redefined. Now if you say anything about black culture you are a racist. If I were to say the majority of crime is cause by blacks, or that blacks on black crime is a major issue. That makes me racist, no that makes me blunt. If I were to beat the hell out of a black dude for no reason then his color than yeah, i'd be racist. Now you can't disagree, or really be honest about things without be branded a racist.

The part about the mainstream media turning this into a racist event is true. The prosecutor in this case also has a history of over-charging. Put the two together with a touch of political ambition and of course it's a big deal racism case. It's unfortunate someone lost their life and I'm certain George Zimmerman will live with the guilt of taking someone's life for the rest of his. If the black community, notice I didn't say African-American because that term is bullshit at this point, wants to improve their culture they need to take a long look in the mirror. Look at what most popular rap music is about, violence, drugs, degrading women, money, fast cars and a fast life. Look at what most folks in the hood strive towards, hint it's the same crap they listen to. Now I'm not saying rap music is to blame, I even listen to some of it myself, but getting a good education which takes hard work, trying to better yourself through hard work and making something of yourself BY yourself and not on the handouts of someone else is what this country was founded on and what this country WAS about. I'm absolutely sick of folks DEMANDING things from their government, the only DEMAND that should be made of the government is to foster a society where folks can build something with their own two hands and make something of themselves. Clarence Thomas (who opposes affirmative action) is about as close as there is right now for someone with the ability to influence minorities in that direction, but he has been heavily criticized as a hypocrite for those views. There are many minorities that I don't doubt for a second that would be just as successful without affirmative action, but the system is just setup that it's almost impossible for a minority to avoid benefiting in some way from affirmative action laws/policies. So it's a catch 22 -- it's almost impossible for a minority avoid benefiting from affirmative action, so those that do succeed would be perceived as being hypocritical if they oppose it.

It's not really any different than a spoiled white boy getting into a top university/college simply because his rich parents/relatives gave some hefty donations to the school. He can do with his money as he wishes.

Honestly, it's kinda sad that the primary reaction to this I've seen so far isn't: "Good for him for trying to help her out", so perhaps "we" need to take a long look in the mirror, too. I'd much rather see her be given an opportunity and motivation (and sometimes that all it takes) to make something of herself, than just completely giving up on her and expecting her to become a welfare leech. IMO, 19 years old is way too early to "give up" on someone.

My issue with the whole scholarship thing is she's 19, and still in high school? Why should it take someone offering her a full-ride to college to persuade her to WANT to graduate and pass the SAT's? There's A LOT of kids out there that cannot afford to attend community college, let alone a historic black/white college of their choice, yet they work their ASS off to graduate and get out of high school.

By applauding this guy and saying "good for him for trying to help her out", it’s basically giving her the message of "thank-you for choosing not to do anything with your life, but here’s a free college education". The idea of living for yourself and not off the handouts of others should be enough motivation for anyone to create opportunities for themselves. However, as long as there is the safety catchall of welfare and government assistance (to those that don’t TRUELY need it), things will continue as they are.

He is welcome to try and help her out. I hate to see a scholarship wasted on someone so illiterate and generally ghetto. Also someone that lied to get Zimmerman charged with murder. But its his money. I bet the libtard black universities push her through and graduate her without her learning much.
