Also loved seein my XJ in the first pic on 31's that brought back a flood of great memories, actually alot of those first pics did. Thanks Tom, get this thing done so we can all go out like we used to...

Make your life easy for brake lines. Run SS braided -3AN from the MC to the caliper. Go with 24" increments, and then you can field fix anything that may get damaged. Speedway motors have the best prices on that stuff.

I made my own lines with regular straight braided line with fitting on the ends, bought whatever banjo bolts I needed. Had an -AN style fitting or maybe just a regular flare, don't remember any longer. Bought everything from poly performance, probably somebody else closer and cheaper. http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...l#.UlbQ8VCTiSo and bought straight sections of line like these http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...l#.UlbRE1CTiSo although you could make it all yourself if you wanted. I just didn't want to make my own lines for something that important.

If memory is correct, I got two different rebuilds on the chevy calipers I used on my 60s. One had a metric thread, the other was sae and the disks I used in the rear were sae but a different size. All you need is the correct thread banjo bolt, and you can buy the correctly sized banjo to match. You can buy 90*, etc but it really doesn't matter as long as you keep the line clear from hitting anything.

Bingo. Use the right thread banjo bolt, then the -3AN fitting can be had in straight, 45*, and 90*. It's really that simple.

I think I'm going to see what I can do to raise it up a little bit with an add-a-leaf or one of my rear CJ leaves. I'm using stock (used) YJ springs but they're flat. That's great for droop but I need something with just a hair more arch.

I'll take a pic tonight of the setup.

    I'm open to advice.
i had daystar stingers set to 1.5" of travel and 1.5" before they touched in the back.

I'd shoot for 3" or more before you get too far into the bump itself.

Maybe set up the timbrens on a piece of tube to fit into standard bump cans so you can tune it in once you get it out a few times.

We also have a rear driveshaft! A big thanks to Dave (DMG) for hooking that up. I don't know what the hell I would have done otherwise, with the angles being so steep. I called a couple shops and they couldn't do it.

Also, apparently Timbren got wise to their bumpstop demand and started charging $200+ for a pair of bumpstops. It looks like they changed a lot of things on their website as well so I am thinking about running this setup instead:

    http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/poly-...ump-stops.html
    http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...p-p-25577.html

It could be made easy enough but for the price of them I think its worth it.
if you're going to mount the can... why not just run a set of daystar stingers?

you're 70 bucks plus shipping into solid bumps with rubber ends... stingers would probably be 100 bucks more...

    and check your pm's
