93 yj. Currie 9s. soa. etc (build thread)

So I said goodbye to the tj tonight. I traded it for a yj and a bunch of cash... that I'm promptly spending on the new rig.

    93 yj. 355 sbc that's pretty decently built. Th350. 4.10 gears. 4" lift Sitting on 33s.

runs awesome. Drives good. Original plan was toss some 35s on it and make it cool... maybe do a rear end to replace the d35 so I can romp on it... and then I ran into these...

Currie 9s. Hp front lp rear. Brand new. Guy bought them in 2003 for a project that never happened. 4.10s with detroits. Front also comes with a hub kit. Yj width.

    He tossed in these too

0" lift fiberglass leaf springs. Brand new in the package. I'll net about 5" of lift.

Still need to order the histeer kit. But that'll be the last really big piece and I'll be soa on currie 9 ' s

I bailed on the 9's. f it. i was going to stretch the budget and it's not worth it. I'm going to toss an 8.8 in the back and maybe lockrite it and call it good.

Put my order in today at 4wd, and ordered the stuff for the stereo....

Smittybuilt rear bumper/tire carrier (i know i know)
    pro comp front bumper
smittybuilt 9500 lb winch with synthetic line
    psc hood vent
    1" body lift
5th wheel for the spare (since i have a spare 35 to match the wheels/tires from DMG)
TJ xenon flares (6") (gonna cut for clearance)
    rear sound pods for 6x9's
front sound pods for 5.25's (for the center hump)
    bikini top

    I also ordered:
    13" double row light bar
    smittybuilt hawse fairlead light mount
    Type R 6x9's
infiniti cappa 4x6's for the dash
    MB quart amp
    jbl 5.25's for the pod.

should be a nice start to the jeep. at least get it looking good and stuff. Still figuring out seats. that's next.

Be glad you bailed on the fiberglass springs. Teraflex quit making them 7 or 8 years ago for a reason and it wasnt because of their awesomeness. They had too many problems with them breaking at the u bolt area. Astro vans and Luminas had them mounted in rubber. If you go SOA just get a good set of new springs.

I don't think you're getting the point of this rig... it's going to go to the ice cream shop, to the lake, and putt around town... it will see a little dirt but nothing like in the past.

Winch is in, spare is in, front bumper is in, 12voltguy switch panel is in, 7" touch screen is in and installed, all my speakers and sound pods are in. bikini is in.

still waiting on the amp and i can do the stereo, rear bumper/tire carrier are on the way, as is the flares.

amp is in. returning the head unit i bought. the screen cuts out. that's what i get for taking a gamble on chinese no name stuff.

kenwood marine head unit is ordered and is going in place of the touch screen.

overall the sound is awesome. 4x6's and 5.25 components in the front, 2 way type R 6x9's in boxes behind the seats, and i'm going to add an 8 or 10" sub i have laying around in the far back.

i pulled these junk 25 watt 4x6's out of the dash. seriously. i you're going to go through all the trouble of changing these out (which was a pain) why would you put the CHEAPEST speakers you could find in it?

    front pod

winch, bumper, and LED bar (needs fixed, it's a little crooked)

Have to ask, what "ice cream store" needs a winch and LEDs to get to? Okay, I guess you did say something about playing in the dirt.

It's open diff. Need the winch to get unstuck and the lights to see my way home after being stuck in the woods all night lol.

    It'll see mild trails.
