Tread is around 7/32'nds. good for a spare tire, still has the little sipes in the center blocks. No tears, cuts etc.. For the tire carrier, I'm going to Pat's this weekend sometime to built it up. We're building a new bumper while we're at it. I want the new bumper to be closer to the crossmember if i'm adding a carrier to it.

Bumper should fit a TJ. You might have to open up the mounting holes to get them to line up, but the overall width and general mounting points haven't changed much between the YJ-TJ's. On my rear crossmember, it was slotted from the factory, and I believe TJ's are the same, so you may not even have to cut anything. I honestly have never tried.
