    What's the noise???

    '04 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (LJ)
    Got an annoying squeak that seems to be coming from the area of the transfer case at the front drive shaft.
    U-joints seem OK (visual, no play in them)
    Maybe a bad seal?

    The CV in the front shaft will do that.

    You're talking about the front drive shaft, where it's coming out of the transfer case?

    That double cardon joint has a bearing in the center that should be greasable with a needle adapter. Give it a try.

    Hoping that will do it. If beyond greasing, I take it that it's rebuildable with new U-joints (and the bearing?)

    LOL.... probably shoulda done those this past weekend with the nice weather, but I had a 2 day "Personal Protection Inside The Home" gun class already scheduled.

    Yup, that center bearing piece can be replaced.
