While my wife is about 8.5 months pregnant with #4, and starting a Burn Boot Camp (Robinson Township, PA) that'll be open in a few months, I felt like it was a GREAT idea to get back into the game with a rig that I can't even put the kids in!
We have an AWD minivan that does well in winter, but my Turbo Sonata is an ice skate, and snow tires for the fancy calipers / wheels cost thousands, so I was looking for something to drive in winter. But why just drive in winter when you can have some fun with it?
Thanks to Pghchamp, 2008 2 door Rubicon 6 speed with 5.13 gears. I don't have any major plans for it, but am going to give it some TLC, clean it up a bit (need to hunt down carpet and a back seat for the kids.) Long term I think my family will need a 2nd 4 door Jeep that's not this built, but in our search and research for fitting 4 kids and 2 adults in a vehicle that's wheelable, we just decided... don't! We'll be a 2 Jeep family. So this is Dad's big Jeep, and we'll do a mild build on a 4 door in the future once thing settle down.
I have a lot to learn, I spent so many years learning about ZJ's and WJ's that I feel like I'm in a foreign land with this. Frame, what's a frame!?
The kids are calling it "The Turtle."
Time to get the tools out and start planning! The cardboard was already down for my 2.0T Sonata, for some reason my new oil filter doesn't seal right, I'm sure this will drip a bit too, though.
