(Pics Fixed) Back in the Jeep family. 2008 Rubicon on 36" IROK's

While my wife is about 8.5 months pregnant with #4, and starting a Burn Boot Camp (Robinson Township, PA) that'll be open in a few months, I felt like it was a GREAT idea to get back into the game with a rig that I can't even put the kids in!

We have an AWD minivan that does well in winter, but my Turbo Sonata is an ice skate, and snow tires for the fancy calipers / wheels cost thousands, so I was looking for something to drive in winter. But why just drive in winter when you can have some fun with it?

Thanks to Pghchamp, 2008 2 door Rubicon 6 speed with 5.13 gears. I don't have any major plans for it, but am going to give it some TLC, clean it up a bit (need to hunt down carpet and a back seat for the kids.) Long term I think my family will need a 2nd 4 door Jeep that's not this built, but in our search and research for fitting 4 kids and 2 adults in a vehicle that's wheelable, we just decided... don't! We'll be a 2 Jeep family. So this is Dad's big Jeep, and we'll do a mild build on a 4 door in the future once thing settle down.

I have a lot to learn, I spent so many years learning about ZJ's and WJ's that I feel like I'm in a foreign land with this. Frame, what's a frame!?

The kids are calling it "The Turtle."

Time to get the tools out and start planning! The cardboard was already down for my 2.0T Sonata, for some reason my new oil filter doesn't seal right, I'm sure this will drip a bit too, though.

Have fun with it Matt! I have a ton of memories with that Jeep! Serves its purpose well and I’m glad it went to someone who knows wheeling

I needed something to tinker with, and for JJ to learn on. Couldn't pass it up even though the timing is dumb!

I wanted a gladiator, but the cost is just stupid....

The pics should be visible now, the way I did it before probably only worked for people currently logged in to a Google (hosted from my google photos) which didn't work out too well.

There aren’t that many Remos around so I bet it is. I just checked his website, looks like good stuff.

Going to check it out, thanks! I need at least a rear seat and belts, but frankly could do with all new seats and belts. Need a soft top that fits right, too, maybe soft doors if funds allow. My first priority is getting it to drive in a straight line, the tie rod ends are shot and it gets some amazing death wobble but only at about 25 if you hit a hole right. I've been driving it daily and I don't think it'll be too bad to get a bit safer to put a kid or two in. Definitely needs some love, heater selector knob and some small things like that are busted up. It's definitely coming out your way for some love soon, and inspection is up end of this month anyway....

Sure was! Remo JR. owned it. Funny, I almost went up for the fish fry but traffic was bad and I had a sick kid, so I just went with cash Saturday instead.

Hoping to have JJ on the trails in it by fall, just not kid friendly right now. You know, no seats in the back or belts and all haha
