Been bit by the bike bug this fall

So it all started with my Father in law telling me about this sweet 1969 CL350 scrambler that he found. He bought the parts bike for it for 50 bucks, in boxes. and decided to put it together. So he convinced me to buy the nice bike.

So i did. Anyway, after he got the parts bike together and going he decided he wanted to sell it, so i snagged that along with the bike lift. 1972 CL350 scrambler

Well, during all this my buddy who owns specialty cycle works out near johnstown posts that he's clearing out all his extra inventory for 200 bucks a bike. And because a bunch of us are idiots, we bought them all to build into scramblers

I took the black gs550 and it started like this:

    And now it's current state:

anyway, while i'm working on that, i also decided. you know... i'm still a novice and should have a more modern bike to learn on (i grew up riding dirt bikes, so not a total novice to bikes). So i was looking and found a 2017 SCR950 LOCAL for 1200 bucks less than anywhere else in the country. So i grabbed that as my stock "good bike".

These things are just so much easier to work on than cars lol. I'm still building the TA and keeping an eye open for another jeep. But they've been a good distraction.

Got some work done last night. Bought this 4 into 1 for 50 bucks off a 650. cut the flanges off the stock exhaust and off this and welded them together in glorious matrimony.

also hauled the SCR home and put it in the garage at the rental with the Scramblers. This weekend picking up a 75 yamaha 175 enduro too lol

I saw a blue Honda just like the one in the first pic in Harmarville on Saturday. Watched him almost get smacked by a minivan changing lanes too.

Glad to see you didn't chop up the CL350s, they're getting hard to find in original condition. I picked up a cherry '75 CL360 earlier this summer that I never ride. At least it's cool to look at.

The grey one is going to get a little love. not chopped up but swapping to mikuni carbs and doing somethign with the mufflers (stock ones have holes in them). maybe new controls since these ones are kinda messed up. It'll still look the exact same though.

Looks like you picked up some nice projects! I haven’t touched my DRZ since May and need to get it out soon! I have a 73 Bultaco that I keep putting off starting a restoration on too, but that’s not getting started anytime soon…

I'm almost done with the scrambler build. wiring is all wrapped up. I swapped to a pair of siamese minkuni carbs rather than the stock 4 carb setup. Just have to do brakes and go front to back tightening and adjusting and everything.

So i sold the 2 honda scramblers and ended up with a 2021 KTM 390 adventure.

So far i'm really digging it. It does what i wanted the scramblers to do, but better and more reliably.
