You need to get a groover after them 34's
Make a HUGE difference on the CJ5 I borrowed to run Paragon

we need an update... This build is taking too long. What did you do last weekend?

I didn't really think it was worth the update...
I'm having some minor problems getting the steering bracket to line up right on my knuckle...possibly because I drilled my 5/8 holes out before I had the bracket on there. Good thing I have another knuckle!
I rebuilt the uca bushing
I ordered 6.5" Leaf springs with grade 8 u-bolts and grade 8 6* shims
...As soon as that stuff gets in, the jeep is open for building!

I gotta send some pics to RK on friday...The bracket doesn't really line up with the bolt for the tie-rod. I know the jeep I got the D30 from was in an accident on that side but I think the knuckle is cast so it would have broke before it bent.

Cast can bend... not as far as other material but it can bend. Not all cast is made the same, it can be a different mix of metals to make it stronger or less brittle.
What part are you talking about? I'm not familiar with RK kits.
I doubt it did bend but it is possible. Wrecks can do alot of unseen damage.
The small arm that comes out where the bolt for the tie rod goes through gets sleeved by that 1/4" bracket...that small arm on the knuckle hangs out the side of the bracket when its bolted up to my knuckle...which doesn't seem right.
The instructions say to drill out the 1/2" holes to 5/8 when the bracket is on...well I didn't read all that before I drilled my knuckles without the bracket attached and the hole is atleast 1/4" off from where I think it should be. When I send pics to RK thursday night, I'll post the same pics up here.

I got ya now. I dont think a bent knuckle would even cause any problems anyways, at least from what I can see in the picture.
Does that bracket get welded to the knuckle? If not I would think it will come loose alot.
The RK website doesnt help me very much for detailed info.
Heres some more pics of the steering on another jeep.
It bolts onto the two upper bolts that hold the hub on and it also has that 5/8" bolt that holds it to the end of the knuckle.

I'm not talking removing entire lugs or anything
All we did on Jaybirds is run crisscross 1/4 grooves from opposing outer lugs
So they basically have Charlie Brown zig-zags all the way around all 4 tires now
Didn't cause any noticable difference on road (except for better traction in the snow) and were an unreal difference offroad (specially in the rocks, not so much for mud since it was such a small difference in overall void ratio)

I'm not completely worthless, I can always serve as a bad example.
Every time I walk into a singles bar I think of my mom's wise words, "Don't pick that up, you don't know where it's been."
My tracking # says the leaf springs should be here Friday

while your axles are off the jeep...you should consider welding on stronger control arm brackets, and raise your rear shock mounts up. the stock front lower control arm brackets are VERY weak.
Looks noiice!
Those are some big leaf springs
What kind of springs did you end up going with?
Well he's been working on it all day, or so he was sopose to... I think im gonna stop by after work and see his progress.
