Whats up guys... I have a few questions. I am looking into purchasing another Jeep. I think I have found a good deal, although there is a lot of bad that comes with the good. I do not have any pictures, if I dont pick the Jeep up today, I will go and take some pictures. Heres the basics.
99 TJ, metallic blue
4 banger, 5 speed
107k miles on it
It has a 4 inch suspension lift (superlift I believe)
3 inch body lift
35 inch M/T Baja's
M/T Beadlock Wheels
K&N Intake
Throttle Body Spacer
Has 1/2 doors, with the nice upper windows that have real glass that slides left and right rather than up and down, pretty nice.
Ok, now the bad. The kid that owned it before definaly wheeled the shit out of it. The body is in good condition, there is a little dent on the hood, and the rt fender is SLIGHTLY hit, which is not a problem for me. He took out the dash (why, who knows!) and replaced it with diamond plating. The vents are still there and the wiring I believe. No heat controls, no radio, not sure if the speakers are behind the diamond plate or not. It still has the stock gauge cluster in it tho. It has no rear seat. The tranny tunnel rubber covering is missing. No center console. It also popped out of 4 low 2 times when I put it in and tried to pull out. Then I think I locked it in right and it stayed in the rest of the time no problem. I think the front sway bar is missing or something. There are "nipples" that you can see where there is a hole where a cotter pin went. It has bad tie rod ends, the steering is messed up a little for on road driving. When the jeep is off but the key is on, if you turn on the turn signal then switch it off, it still clicks until you start the Jeep.
I know thats a long list of "bad" but we own a body shop and mechanical shop and have a really good suspension guy. So im sure the tie rods and sway bar ordeal will not be that bad. The dent in the hood and fender im not too worried about, but if I was, I can take care of that. I can buy a rear seat and consol. The previous owner (this is at a dealer now) traded it in on a new Honda 450r quad, so he lost his ass. Since the previous owner is local, I might be able to get a hold of him and see if he still has the back seat and or the dash.
Its going to take some TLC... but if I had a pic of this Jeep, you guys would say it looks sick and its pretty mint. So im a little confused. I know what the dealer paid for it ($2500, I have a friend that works there).. they want to sell it to me for $3500 plus tax, title, etc... which will bring it to 4k. They will NOT work with me on the price at all. I offered them 3k, they said no, I offered them $3500 out the door, but still have not heard back yet. They said they can take it to the auction and one "of those west virginia boys" will come up here and buy it up for 4500 easily. I want to jump on this before they take it to the auction... should I just buy it? Or could I buy a similar stock Jeep and just buy the same setup as this Jeep?
Thanks guys....
