Rough idle and loss of power...

Ok so I have a little problem.

Sometimes when I start my wj it idles real rough and when I put it in gear it is real choppy on the power and jerks and if you give it gas you can hear it backfire through the intake.

If you punch the gas it almost cleans itself out and runs fine after that.

    Anyone have any ideas?

I changed plugs and swapped coil pack. Tried putting in some fuel injector cleaner. None of which seemed to help.

Could be a few things I can think of right off the top of my head...

thanks bud, I would love to get it fixed someday.

There is about a million things i need to get done on it.
I think next in line is going to be a new exhaust manifold gaskit, because its leaking. Maybe get some cheap header to put on instead.
It doesn't look like a fun job...

After you give it some more gas does it smooth out or does it continue to idle rough?

It could be a vacume line.

When you swapped the plugs were any wet?

No none of the plugs were really wet, just looked like normal wear on them.

It does clean itself out when i hammer on the gas, but if i just give it normal amount of gas it spits at me and back fires through the intake.
