Did you put taller shock mounts & long travel shocks on?

    http://www.in2jeep.com/fordshockmt.htm

4" springs with a SOA seems pretty high... what size tires you runnin? I run 36" Iroks, SOA with 2 1/2" springs & I think I could stand to get my COG down a little

unfortunetly, unless you cut the rear tub or get wide enough axles to mount them between the tub & the wheel, it is difficult to get long travel shocks for the rear on a CJ.

You still running stock width axles?

They are cut down close to stock leght(little longer), but from an old ford, they have 38s, which is WAY more tire then i need on the little jeep, I was considering loosing the SOA, smaller tires and sticking with the 4 inch lift springs. The only thing is i like my big tires....

And i did get longer shocks and shock mounts(those exact ones actually), that is the most recent thing ive done.

Is it my shocks in the back that stop it from flexin then?

How's your shackle angles look? I'm in the process of redoing my mounts, and noticed a TON of room for improvement.

Well its not just the angle....its the length of the springs, their arch (you're SOA so they're probably flat) and the length of the shackles themselves.

I'm shooting for 45 deg at ride height. That will (with my shackles and springs) give me full compression out of MY springs and get me max droop too.

You need to measure the arc length of your springs and then measure in a straight line from your spring hanger to determine the length and angle of the shackle. Sometimes moving the mount is an option that can help.

Holy f'n off topic! Wow...anyways, Ever think about dropping back down to stock springs, and sticking w/ the spring over? What about your swaybar and track bar? Are they in existence, obviously I'm sure you know to disco the swaybar, but you can always stand to ditch the track bar w/ leaves. How is your steering looking...possibly limiting you?

Well i posted some pics of my other 73 with SOA and stock spirngs, and its at a nice height. Polly keep that one like that. As far as sway bars and trac bars, idk if they even came stock on a 74 actually??? im not sure though, deff none on there though. As far as the steering , its possible that it could be, how would your tell it thats whats preventing it?

Sorry about the track bar thing...I base my thoughts on my previous YJ ownership usually. Most CJ's didn't have them IIRC. I'm not sure what type of steering setup you're running, so it's hard to say what, if anything is limiting your flex there. I guess just max it out and take a look underneath...see if you notice anything binding or causing limitations.

un bolt an end on the springs and drop the front as far as it goes...or just look when it is flexed to see if your tie-rods are maxed out.

No problem! Im running a 360 with a steering box from a FSJ. I know nothing was binding before the lift springs, however, i dont believe i ever checked after i put the bigger spings on... that prolly wouldnt have been a bad idea to have checked...
