it's nice to see some wheelers around where i live, you guys ever go to snake hill, mcllelan, and all around the venetia area??
Never been. I probably do the least local wheelin' of anyone here. I tend to break it while I'm on the big moab / tellico trips and spend all the time it's here fixing itOriginally Posted by standard
i want to see someone try this long bog at mcllelhen, last time i tried it i had 2 less inches of lift and sucked a lot of shit in my air filter, i have pictures of the filter on my car domain. you should come out with us sometime
A lot of the guys here do mud, I avoid it like the plague.
I like rocks.
I don't do wellsville any more either... I survive moab and colorado pretty well, yet screw myself at wellsville every time.
I tend to end up like this there
But let me know if you're going to Paragon
nice rig, i don't think i can afford doing stuff like that yet, haha.
They're not as big!Originally Posted by psychobilly
Na, I just don't like wellsville. Makes me feel like a dirty tramp. Where do we have rocks around here anyway? Other than Paragon and Rausch Creek?
What does that even mean????? :?Originally Posted by OverkillZJ

All it means is that I don't like Wellsville. What's the big deal? Every time I go there I get owned by my right foot.
I just don't like Wellsville, whoopteedoo.
standard, Rich stopped by my house recently yo say hey. I live on Old Washington/Hays Rd. I've seen ya drive by before, good lookin Ranger. I told Rich I would give him a call if we do some local wheelin up at Houston.
He said you guys know of some different places to. I was thinkin about going up to Houston on Sunday to mess around a little. I'll let you guys know. Anyone else interested?
Wellsville only has one rock trail and I doubt ya know it since its pretty new...wellsville is the last place that comes to mind when I'm talkin rocks. Its getting better now that guys are clearing into the big rockslide though. I still like wellsville, upper twister is always fun anymore and I enjoy the washouts and hills and other terrain, but its not the most difficult trail system out there and definatly not rocky.
rock sample, Within an hour of pittsburgh:
Jay
Jason
mojo
somone from wpax club
me beater
sami on same trail
and since I hijacked this ranger guys thread I'll throw a few pics of thumpers ranger in for him. Different trail system but still within an hour.
Ranger has solid front dana 30 swap, locked f+r, dual ranger cases, 35's, dents. Lots of RBV's in my club and on the trails around here.
same trail system steffy
jason making the firs run over the new section on billygoat
Do the rocks at creek falls count?
joe
The mountains just east of pittsburgh are more rock than dirt. [/img]
I get the point, not sure why you're going off on a "matt's a retard for not liking local wheeling" rant though
I said I don't like mud, that's all, I yi yi.
Is creek falls still legal?
Are those pics from around the Johnstown area Billy? I've heard that there's some nice rocks out there.
not sure why you're going off on a "matt's a retard for not liking local wheeling" rant though
Not sure where I did that at. I am an anti social S.O.B. though so I musta ment it regardless.
Gamelands at the falls are off limits as always but there is a little bit of private land there that as near as I know is still open? I dont frequent there.
Yep, johnstown area and pinky and fatty's funland. there are some nice rocks around altoona too but its more like 1.5 hours from the burgh. All close for me though. Westco has some nice rock too.

I forgot, did some sweet rocks in Altoona a few times when my borhter was going to state college. Forgot about that, there's that whole system of abandoned mining and logging trails back there.Originally Posted by psychobilly
I wasn't tryin to start something - or call you anything for not liking Wellsville. I couldn't care less really! I just thought it was a funny way to put it - "dirty tramp". That's why I used the confused smiley --> :? Wellsville isn't much in the grand scheme, but for many it's a big-enough local-enough wheelin spot where you'll always find something challenging.
I think I just have male PMS today, so I'm gonna go hide in the garage and build something
hahah!
I've had my bouts with wellsville myself, that one pic of yours looks....kinda familiar.
Now just to get this poor ranger dudes thread even more offtopic a bunch of us are doing wellsville on memorial day weekend. Its an annual thing we do, its not the most politically correct or family friendly weekend....but thats why we do it! Its not a club related weekend, no fee's no papers, no anything, just a bunch of folks who get together for a weekend of wheelin with no direction or agenda. Wheel with whoever you want, there are no specific groups or anything. Come back to camp once the day is done and get all hornswaggled. Stop on out
