Ill be honest when I bought the 01, I never checked it, been driving it for over a year now, and finally got around to flushing it. It looked like spent fluid
Anyways Jeep has been shifting alot better since, im really glad I did this.

I was going to do it last year but didn't. It's on my list for this summer. I think mine is leaking so I have to find that too.
Should I change my diff fluid? It's a 2000 and was never done. (I was also going to do that last year but didn't)

scheduled maintenance on diffs is every 15k miles...
So I'm a little behind.
OK so they are on my definitely do list for this summer. Along with fixing my emergency brake that broke MONTHS ago, replace the POS tweeters that have been cracked since I bought it, and maybe washing it.

I love how you add "maybe washing it"
It may have never been changed before...but it could also be burnt because you've been running big arse tires for a while now without any type of aftermarket cooler.
Mine looked the same way until I threw my cooler in and flushed the fluid out. Even with a cooler on now, it runs hot if you dont get much air flowing over it, but its alot better than it was! If you havnt already, you need to get one in there with a temp gauge or your fresh fluid will be burnt in no time.

actually jeep advices not to flush jeep trannys. Just do a fluid change, clean the pan, change the filter, run it and change it again shortly after (if was excessively dirty).

Not really sure what else you could put in a set of gauge pods...but you could just use one pod. Im pretty sure autozone/advance sells them for right around $20. The B&M gauge comes with its own mounting pod, but not sure if you could get it to work on your A-pillar...plus its a mechanical gauge.
I went with a digital gauge I picked up for right around $40. Im not a big fan of flashy gauges/electrical accessories, but I must say the digital gauge is really easy to read at a quick glance and blends in with the dash really nice. Heres where I mounted it...
I am due for a flush in the Crown Vic now. DMG and I have discussed it, I just have not gotten around to it just yet.

Nope, just trans temp.
Whats the Average tranny temps on trails vs roads..
93xj - best $200 dollars I ever spent
91Xj - 33inch TSL's - Some Lift -- Trailer Queen- sold
87xj - 33's 5 inch lift toy - sold
99xj - 31's 4 inch lift to nice to beat so I sold it
01xj - offroad bumpers lift n tires soon
i always thought if you had like 100k+ on a tranny it was best to leave it unchanged...perhaps i'm wrong??
nice gauges! what are the 2 in the center for?
Yep. I've proved a few times with fleet vehicles. Over 100k and trans. flush or fluid change and it will die shortly after. The new fluid with fresh detergents or whatever and flowing at a higher rate with a new filter will kill an auto in no time.
Go ahead and try it and report back in 6 months if someone doesn't believe it.
I have flushed many transmissions and only one died after the flush. And it barely made it into the shop to be flushed. If flushing it kills it, it was probably going to die regardless. I usually do not use the additives that you are supposed to use when you do a flush, that can be some harsh stuff.
Ask Matt what it did for his 200k+ 4L80.
Changed the fluid and filter on my car a few months ago. Probably had the same fluid in it since the late 80's, didn't smell burnt though. Shifts a lot smoother now.
