With as little rain as we have been getting, plan on walking your canoe down the Clarion river if you want to go on a trip in Cook's forest.
A bad day of wheelin' is still better than a good day at work

You have a jeep, that's so cute so does barbie.

Water's been flowing nicely due to dam releases on the East Branch. Haven't been upstream lately but I'm willing to bet it's no worse than in the summer.

I think somebody mentioned it before, but Tygart lake is also a really nice place. We go down a couple times a year with the boat and stay in the boat. I've not seen the campground, but it is a beautiful place and the water is really clear and awesome.

Hey Matt try this place 43.829666, -110.832589, it's been a few years since I have been here. I grew up in these parts, I think you would enjoy it. Just don't go for a swim you'll freeze your nads off

LOL! No you don't! You think keeping a trail rig is expensive? You might as well throw your money right in the river. HAHA.

I just filled the tank on the boat this weekend and it cost me over 140 bucks (And I have a relatively small tank). That'll last me about 2 to 3 days on the water, and that's just staying local. I can burn a tank of gas down river to Pittsburgh and back easily.

And gas in the boat is just one thing. Count the gas to tow it any distance, cost of repairs if something breaks, typical maintenance, dock fees, etc.... It's an expensive venture.

What you need to do is have a job like Dave and drive other peoples boats.

Do you fill your boat on the river/lake? I can only imagine what gas on the lake will be this summer!

Are you talking about Lake Courage formed by a damn on Little Sandy Creek at Heritage Camp? That's a boy scout camp and is private. No public access to the lake.

EDIT: Just looked up the coordinates you posted. Looks like some maps do label it as Lake Heritage, but it should read Lake Courage. Regardless, that's in the private Heritage Camp for boy scouts.

I filled mine at the gas station on the way to dump it in the water. Gas will be outrageous on the water this summer, no doubt. Will probably be worth pulling it every time I need to gas up.

Indian Creek Campground in Geneva, Ohio. Right off Lake Erie with plenty to do and see, and the cleanest bathrooms I may have ever seen in a campground. Tons of amenities/restaurants/attractions in the nearby town of Geneva-On-The-Lake, and some decent hiking within a short drive.

yeah ill second this.. dock fees 650$ a year, Hauling it around , Maintencing isn't bad but buffing the boat everyyear before summer starts and cleaning it at the end of the year is a serious job, and also tygart lake has rope swings - big rock to jump off of and warm clear water and min traffic vs other lakes
