no offence, but how deep into it can a mountain bike forum get? I mean, 2 wheels, a seat and a chain...

Back in MY day we rode crappy off brand wally world bikes and we happy not to die.

    if you only knew.

just the front fork for example. The offset of the front crown 10mm can completely change how the bike handles.

    tiny changes make huge differences.
taking unsafe rigs to a whole other level

To tell you the truth it can get pretty in depth. There are some bikes that are more expensive than some cars. Full Ti and C.

I could never justify a bike that expensive.

I get to do the best of both worlds, no reason to knock it! I use to race back when I was in HS, I only recently got back into it. Keep in mind its also a good way to stay healthy! Sitting behind the driver seat doesnt help. I just love to be outside, always have. Im pretty proud of myself, I lost 10lbs that I have been carrying around with me since college! I feel better than ever, I can attribute it all to biking.

i've noticed a significant increase in my health since we got back into riding.

i'm more flexible since i stretch on a regular basis.

my endurance is getting a lot better.

i lost a little weight. fixing my diet would help a LOT

    Umm.....

    Just messin with you jay.

I respect how you guys ride....alot of my friends up here at school are big into the mountain thing. I personally, could never imagine spending that much money on a bike only to take it in the woods and beat not only the bike, but yourself up too. I've seen the condition my roommates are in when they come back from riding.....

...I think i'll stick to my jeep!

If I had the money, i would like to buy a nice bike. But alas I am poor, so I guess i'll stick to my Kmart blue light special.
