    JKS disconnects grease fitting

Has anyone been able to find the adapter to use on these damn flush mount grease fittings? According to JKS it's a common part availble every freaking where, just not western Pa apparently.

The part number they give is a Lincoln 83278. I've looked on the inteweb as well with no luck. Anyone????

I'm not familiar with that you speak of. Every set of JKS discos I've installed has had the regular grease fittings with the little dust covers on them. Are these the ones that look like the head of a bolt with a small grease hole in the middle? Maybe just swap them out for the normal?

Did you try 66 Auto Supply out by Ralph's house? They had some of those fittings in stock when I needed them for my control arms. I didn't like them however, they're tough to get grease in with the needle.

Whoops I'm an idiot and had to reread your post, do you need the fitting itself or the needle to fill it? 66 Auto should have both either way.

Yeah Tom I need to grease them. I already have those stupid things on there now.

Seems like a PITA. I don't know why they used them. I think it will be cheaper and easier just to change them to regular fittings.

    Check McMaster-Carr

We unfortuntly used some of those at the place I worked this summer and McMaster had what we needed. I think they had to call and ask for them though, they werent listed on the website or in the book.

If there is enough room to run regular zerk fittings I would switch them out. I ran them because of clearance issues and the fittings I needed were an odd thread size (those were the only ones available).

There's really nothing in the way of putting regular fittings on there. It looks like it's just a standard 1/4-28 fitting.

Well about 10 minutes and $2 later, it's done. All greased up with no where to go.
