There ya go! if the floors are good that's a helluva good start.

That bronco you were looking at was a massive pile of junk. I'm sorry man. That rear 9" was probably 28 spline too... plus that rig would have been heavy as hell...

wow, there is so much retardedness ( that even a word?) in this thread. most of you think that jeeps are god's gift to the woods. hate to burst your bubble but your way wrong. anytime you guys wanna try to keep up to a fullsize when wheeling you just come along with us.

anything you take in the woods needs work to make it more capable, unless your just going to drive down a dirt road splashing thru puddles.

aquaholic- get what you want, and want to work on. think about parts availability. nothing you get is going to be ready the same day you buy it for the price you want to pay. i tried it. found a cj5 for $1500. thought i'll be wheeling in a matter of a week or 2. now it did need some finishing work. i give up on it after a while cause it just wasn't me, and didn't have the parts laying around for them like i do chevy's. traded it for my blazer, threw a lift and 1-tons on it, and been wheeling it. couldn't be happier.

We know you like full size, including the bumm in your avatar

Jokes aside, no one here said he had to buy a Jeep, only suggested that on some trails full size can be a pain. Full size is great, but there's trails I've had trouble fitting the buggy, and the only thing full size about it is the axle width.

To each their own, but all folks have done is express their opinions: if you're calling that retardedness because you don't agree with it, that's uber-retardendess.

    There, it's a word now.

(I can't believe I just read that whole thread, good luck finding your rig!)

i think that's the key word there.

he was going on and on about how he loved that bronco because it was so clean and he could wheel it on 31's...

if it had 1 ton axles, or even 3/4 tons, something he could just toss a lift and tires under and go, then i would have been saying hell yes.

you know as well as anyone what garbage that 1/2 ton stuff is! he sounded all psyched that it had a 9 inch out back. but a 1/2 ton 9" isn't exactly all that great.

and between you and me, i'm not really into the CJ's either.

No, many people pointed out that full sizes don't fit on some Western PA trails without substantial sheet metal modification, and you found it insulting

He'll buy something eventually, I hope!

That's why i've spent all this extra time trading hubs and narrowing axles. I know my property has alot of spots where a fullsize wouldn't fit without alot of body damage, if at all.

true. SOME , but not everyone wheels rabbit paths.

trails can be made wider. we have 1 or 2 trails i can't take my blazer yet. we need to do a little trimming.

Screw that, my Samurai fits on quad trails, and when it breaks you can put it on a radio flyer wagon and walk it out

Last time it moved was St. Patty's day... It's almost ready to wheel with the long arms and coils now, still manual power steering at this point. Life kinda got in the way of wheeling for awhile, haha, but I'll be back at it, new tow rig by spring.

    LOL
I got your 1 ton thing, now it hurts when I pee?

Anyway's - I love fullsize rigs, I really do miss having them
    around.
Nothing was more fun then driving a lifted 4 speed Chebby & on top of that even the most basic half ton Blazer has twice the driveline of most stock Jeeps (IMHO).

That said, I got real tired of not fitting down trails/mashing every body panel on my rig/not being able to see any-freakin'-thing over my hood when trying to go for a little trail ride.

Now I run smaller rigs, and even as much as I hate admiting it, Jeeps are just plain WAY easier to make basic trail ready quickly (Once again IMHO before ten arguements start).

It wasn't exactly set up factory then. No rig is set up from the factory to wheel every type of terrain. Everything needs to be modified in some form or another, whether it be a Jeep needing heavier axles or a full size being too wide to fit on trails.

Since when is pulling the shafts, measuring, calling Moser, and credit card a reason to sell a really cool truck?
