Interested in a fullsize 2 door blazer? I passed a nice one on my way home from work yesterday. I'll stop and get the number if you want. Price range?
It's not illegal, it's frowned upon.
thanks jack. i gotta pass. as much as i love those old blazers i've owned a bunch of em but i really wanted to try a jeep this time around. i just bought a jeep tonight. its a 97 cherokee with 108k on the clock. got it for $1400. floor pans are perfect. rockers have some very minor rust starting but nothing to get in a snit about. still has all the factory paint on it with no bodywork or bondo. underneath is very clean. changing axles, springs and shocks and stuff like that will not require a torch and its sittin on some decent stock size all terrain tires. here it is. http://s328.photobucket.com/albums/l...97cherokee.jpg

i know. this is the first order of business. http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_3.html followed closely by some mud terrain tires. and some warn lockouts to replace those factory automatic hubs. i'de like to put some additional 3" spacers under those new rough country front springs and some 3" blocks in the back under that new rough country add a leaf kit for an additional 3 inches but i cant seem to find the rear block and u bolt kits. any idea who would sell those?

i wouldnt want that hub kit anyway, i like not having to get out to turn the hubs in, and piss on them in the winter to get them to move

LOL, figure out what axles are under it too...
you xj guys will know better, should that be an 8.35/hp30?
And i'm not being super critical on the buld plans... but i'm kinda leery about blocking the rear springs 3"....
taking unsafe rigs to a whole other level
yeah, i'm probably gonna need some advice from you jeep guys. my tahoe has 6" blocks with an add a leaf. i just kinda figured that would work on a jeep to. my biggest problem is i cant even find a rear block kit for an xj. finding the front spring spacers was easy.

Congrats!
Start out with the 3" and some 31" tires. Get a lunchbox locker for the front and some skidplates and wheel the hell out of it. XJ springs sag and are prone to axle wrap as is, blocks will only make it worse. Jumping straight to 5"-6" of lift on a small budget is a bad idea. I suggest you build it moderately, wheel it until you find something you want to change, then change it slowly as you go.
lol

.....then again that used to be my motto until I got the Jeep...now THAT doesn't even work half the time.

there was no question IF i was going to get one. there was a definate question WHEN it was going to happen. i was prepared to look through march if i had to. and just so i got the final kick in the f"in nuts, the 85 bronco guy just sent me an email and said he just got his duplicate title in the mail today if i still want the truck.

Good move on the Jeep. Does it have the 4.0 under the hood?
