The worst is when you pull up a Carp, because they both fight like hell but Carp aren't much of a meal.

Depends on how hungry you are, and the amount of beer in your system. But you're right, they taste like poo.

ya know I never actually ate a cat from our rivers....
I like the way cat tastes but theres somethin about the frothy oily water that makes me have second thoughts.

down under the highland park bridge below the damn. there are monsters.
deep sea rod required monsters. they love silver minows and chicken liver.

That sounds like a good time. I have seen some huge cats pulled out of rivers. How big are we talking?

The ones below the dams are the biggest, they just lay there waiting for dead things to reach the overflow, and gobble them up. My dad has taked of ones bigger than I am (150 lbs) he pulled out by the Yough dam area. They get big.

On a side note, I'm ready to go fishing, just have to wait for a dry day.

the biggest I have seen personally was around 3.5 4 ft long. and the thing was a big fat bastard.

the sand bar down under the damn is completely covered right now.
    the rains gotta ease up.

I am ready to fish too.

Area of the 40th st br isn't too bad if you can get your line out far enough, and deal with the rowers while the sun is still out.

I went 2-3 wks ago for the first time, buddy of mine wanted to go. He landed one 19" long, we didn't have a scale it was a fatty though and I got a small one that wasn't even worth the tape measure maybe 10" at most. Kinda glad though didn't bring a heavy rod with me. We used some rotted shrimp and weren't out real long I'm sure we could done better if we stuck around.
