    Interesting shock absorber article.

That would produce a lot of electricity offroad, but sounds expensive.

I also read something about converting lost heat from catalytic converters and mufflers into electric energy, but that wasn't as efficient.

    Interesting stuff IMO.

Interesting. This thought has crossed my mind numerous times on how to make a practical electric off-road vehicle. Curious to see where this goes.

There is so much wasted energy, always wondered if we could capture some of it.

Definatly you have every thing from shocks and cats to your brakes and even your steering. Anything that moves is capeable of producing an amount of energy. he problen is just how to capture all of this wasted energy to make everything so much more efficient.

There's something about that on the wall in the ME building. It was someones senior project or something.

    Cool read, good idea.

They need to come test one of those vehicles on the old Freeport bridge. limegreentj and anyone else who has gone from Freeport toward Leechburg (or vice versa)knows how much energy they can harness just in the quarter mile bridge span.

    1.21 gigawatts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their woking on something very similiar to this only with off shore bouys. The waves create the up and down movement instead of the vehicle hitting bumps to generate electricity.

Great, so now the greenies can petition to STOP fixing potholes as we're taking away valuable energy.

Otherwise, pretty cool. I wonder how that will effect GM's electromagnetic shocks.
