No need for a skirt. It's a fairly smooth ride. A few riffls here and there.

At this point I am available for any of the above mentioned days. I know my weekends in June are filling up fast though.

Not only am I available, I think I am ready at this point too... I bought the kayak, paddle, and vest yesterday. All I need now is to get it out to the lake this week and get some time in setting it up and getting a little bit of paddle-time in.

Setup looks good Bill. I need to get my registration sent in so I can get some "ass time" in the kayak before the trip.

I think me and my buddy are goin to bring the canoe and fish as we go. Any dirt roads or trails to run up there Dana to sight see or explore while we're there? I seem to remember hearing of a few up there on my travels.

I opted for a launch permit, got it here (https://www2.pa.wildlifelicense.com/start.php). $20.00 for two years, it allows you to use the boat on PFBC access areas and state parks. You can print out a temporary permit to use right away until you get the official one.

We have the launch permits on all of our kayaks, that way we don't have to plaster them with registration numbers on both sides of the bow.

We run the upper allegheny every year. It's awesome.
I usually camp on one of the islands since they're considered state park and you can camp.

Sounds good, depends on workload for school, work, and getting the boat ready. Haven't had her out in a year or so.

Tidioute to Tionesta is a great float. I have a camp near West Hickory and do at least one float trip every year. There are plenty of places to rent canoes or kayaks. For those not familiar, you can rent from the Eagle Rock Motel in Tionesta or The Little Store up the highway a bit in East Hickory. I noticed this past weekend that a new place opened right in West Hickory next to the Sportsman's. For those who want to catch fish, make sure you hit the deep water under and just downstream from the Tidioute bridge (big flathead catfish) and, just before you get to the West Hickory Bridge, there are some channels that go off the river on your left (facing downriver). Paddle into those channels and throw some floating plugs for smallmouths. I can't make the weekend of the 23rd or I'd be in for the trip. Have fun.
