sell or build... what is it worth?

So i traded my TJ for 2 CJ's.

CJ1 is an 81 laredo on 33's. A to Z cage (really nice cage) and it came with a 30/44 with 4.88's and lockers. those axles are ready to go in.

    https://youtu.be/EEi_NOnFJKE

CJ2... That one is a bit more complicated. CJ2 is an 86. it has a 355 with TBI swapped over and a rebuilt TH350 with shift kit. Nice aluminum dash. It's on ford 9" axles front and rear with 5.13 gears. I'm not sure if they're locked or open yet (picking this up tomorrow. I already picked up the 81). It's SOA on RE 1.5" soa springs. it has a Dana 300 that was installed using a clocking ring for i believe an np205? he said he used a chevy adapter from a chevy tcase but it clocked the tcase way too high. Anyway, it has a really nice cage. any and all rust has been cut out and repaired. the frame is solid. everything is clean. steering is there.

What it needs to be driving/running:
    Driveshafts
    D300 clocked down
a little wiring needs wrapped up
    gauges
    shocks
    paint

So it's not far off being a good rig. My plan was to lower it down and put 37's on it. BUT, i'm kind of thinking about just selling it and focusing on the 81... Having 2 projects at once plus the vette is a lot lol. But the question is... what's it worth? $3500? that's kind of my gut feeling on price... but it's hard to say. I mean, ford 9" axles front and rear and a V8 is pretty badass...

here's some pics. it did not come with the 8274. he kept that

I have a good windshield frame and windshield

    Some pics of the cage:

custom dash and more cage pics

The rockers come all the way under the body and tie into the body mounts

Shackle reversal and you can see the 9" front

Fresh 355 and rebuilt TH350 with shift kit

TBI works but you have to power the fuel pump, ecu, and coil for it to start (hence the wiring that needs completed).

    i'm just torn...

I’m not an expert on CJ values but if it’s not a running driving vehicle it will probably be a tough sale(unless it’s dirt cheap). Looks like the foundation for a damn good wheeler though and I wish I had the extra $ laying around right now for a project!

it'll fire up and run. There's just no driveshafts. I dunno... ford 9" axles front and rear, and the cage... i can probably part it for 3500 too...

Why not have some driveshafts made for it and clean up the wiring a bit? I would imagine it would be worth a good bit more that way? I hate to see an old Jeep in good shape with no rust getting parted out, you don’t find rust free CJ’s anymore. If it’s put together well and it runs well it should be worth some $.

i could... 300 bucks worth of driveshafts and it would move under it's own power

That will dramatically increase the value.

It is possible that the reason there are no driveshafts is that the front won’t clear the trans pan and that the rear would be too short and steep without a wheelbase stretch.

That could definitely be an issue since he says the transfer case is clocked the wrong direction. I guess you would have to just mock something up to see what clears. Grab a broom stick or chunk of 2x4, hold it up there and see if anything is going to hit or not. I know where you could probably get an entire 1 ton square body Chevy truck minus the axles for parts. I believe it has a 205 in it. 350/4speed driveline was all good before it was scavenged for axles too.

It has a TJ flat skid that he modified. Its notched and ready for the driveshafts. He was going to leave the 300 clocked high and run cable shifters.

So it looks like clearance wise itll work. Not sure about pinion angle though.

Was it going to be a 2 piece front shaft?

It still needs some wrapping up. And gone over as far as making sure all the bolts are tight and everything. Everything is "installed" but some stuff is still kind of 90% done. Like the leaf spring bolts aren't tightened down all the way and stuff. little stuff. But regardless. still needs wrapped.

I'm kinda thinking 3500 or trade for a stock/driver/dd for my son. doesn't even have to be another jeep. or maybe a V8 car or something. i dunno...

It needs a hood but i have a line on a few locally. the strap holding it down broke and it was game over lol. Luckily the windshield frame and windshield were in the back of the truck. so the only damage was the hood itself.

It needs spacer or less backspacing on the wheels

It's the same carrier that's mounted to the CJ. he gave me the spare lol

i'm not attached to this lol. you need one?

i'm probably going to put the one that's on the project jeep on my 81. and the bumper from the 81 onto this jeep. so this spare carrier is going to just sit here and collect dust.

I meant the oem JK/JKU one on the floor next to the orange rachet straps in the 2nd pic. The one on my JK is broken. But yes, I do want the other spare tire carrier. Pm me a price if you don’t mind.
